So pretty! And I love how her right ear curls over just slightly. Very cute.

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

I've never fostered or handled Greyhounds before but hopefully I'll start tomorrow, fostering an ex-racer from a rescue group. The wheels have been turning so to speak for a short while so I'm (we're) not totally unprepared. Helping a racer (or racers) to become a pet, and find a happy forever home...

Re: Vent!

Hope you got home safely and with little fuss Diane. My vent is about the lunatic dogs in my neighbourhood the last three nights - including my own! I don't know who starts it, but one will bark, then another gets worked up, then Sweetie joins in, then there's a reply from down the road, then anothe...

though he did settle on it much more happily during the fireworks when I put my best Laura Ashley sofa throw on  End result of this is that now Ari will sit in front of his beloved couch and whine and make faces if the cover is wrinkled or crooked, until someone straightens it up  Then h...

Re: Can dogs get trapped wind?

You two have made me giggle! Sweetie, by contrast, has no problem burping and does not require assistance. However she does come over to make sure she can do it in my face

Pug weightloss - Before and After

I keep meaning to post these. Here are before and after photos of Sweetie. She weighed 11kg when we got her in March 2012. We had her down to 9kg within a few months by feeding her a sensible amount of raw food and twice daily walks. She couldn't walk to the end of our street at first - and we are t...

but he wants to be close to me with it and it's just nasty  Somehow I still give in  sometimes Sweetie will sit beside her bone and stare at us until we come and give her some attention. Then she's straight onto the bone, ignoring us. We walk away, she stops with the bone and stares agai...

Re: Ears

By all means see your vet, but tufts of fur coming away is part of the healing process. The scabs slough off and have to take fur with them. Underneath is healthy skin. :) Definitely wish I'd seen this post before the vet visit, rather than just after we got home from it  . She's perfectly fin...

Re: So hungry it's driving him to distraction

Do try freezing his kongs so they last longer but he only gets the same amount of calories out of them. We have collected three now and have them on rotation in the freezer. And Judy's idea of a meaty bone is great. We also freeze these, but we live in a hot climate. Also, rather than bulking up his...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

I got back from 10 days in NZ today, to a VERY excited puggie. It was so lovely to be welcomed home like that :D . Apparently she was a bit mopey and extra-extra needy for three days, then she and OH established the new temporary routine and she was a very good girl. I missed her heaps!

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

 The 'SweetieSitter' is OH this time and he is well-versed in her idiosyncrasies! In January, when my whole family goes over, the SweetieSitters will be our best mates, who spoil their own dog rotten and love Sweetie to bits. So I know that any anxiety I have about it is in my own head and comp...
