Re: Vent!

... we ran into a Caparthian Shepherd Dog who, well, behaved like one and prolly wanted to eat him. I know the owners though (they have two lovely GSDs) and they had the Shepherd on a lead (Merlin went to say hi to their off lead GSD) so I trust they know what they're doing. After that we ...

Re: Helping choose

... they are not for them after another breeder replied to them and was very honest and said they are true working dogs who need more exercise than a GSD as there is no devide in this breed. They have now after careful thinking and being honest with each other only have the Bernese on there list and ...

Re: Helping choose

... Judy and LOQs , they have emailed a few more breeders to see what they say. I agree with both of you and I can't see them being raised than a GSD, maybe the same but I also have only know Hovawarts that are very energetic I use to have one come in to be groomed and her owner said they are ...

Hi all

They found the breed in a book and then went and spoke with a breeder who said they are a chilled and laid back dog and that there great first dogs who are raised than a GSD.

Re: So you think you want a Giant schnauzer?

I have met a few working line GSD who have been about the same intensity mentally.

Most of the giant schnauzer people I know have all agreed.

I found this also saying the same. http://www.schnauzer-forum.co.uk/viewto ... mobile=off

Re: So you think you want a Giant schnauzer?

Forgot to say, that the best way to sum up a Giant schnauzer is that they are about the same hard work as a Working line GSD and just as intense too, as Sampson is a lot harder that Lara but Lara is a showline GSD. Intense is a word I would use to describe a Giant schnauzer Lara is ...

... and a Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen, I asked how she manages and she said it's easy as she said tow are very placid breeds so just follow the GSD, and she said ones medium which makes it easy , she said they all get along very well no argument at all but she said that's because she's trained ...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

I'm feeling gutted for a friend :( She and her OH are devoted to their dogs. They always have lurchers, but the GSD x lurcher, L, they adopted a few years ago turned out to be more GSD than lurcher once she'd been on some decent food for a while. The female friend, C, had said ...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

... into mom's room. She slept the whole night and this morning Sampson and Peppa played a whole hour :D , also I think it could be because she's a GSD but she's the first dog who is playing just as rough as Sampson does as he plays very rough with other dogs and my GS friends said all schnauzers ...

Re: How do you save a breed?

Second part (this is because the stupid Board deletes long posts  ) With the GSD, it would be pretty easy as there are several breeds that would fit the bill for improving the back and hindquarters without causing further issues, and then when the result is ...
