Re: Keeping Dogs Cool

Im inclined to agree with the early mornings when it comes to hot weather. I have along haired alaskan Malamute/German Shepherd. She really suffers from the hot weather. I trimmed her coat to make her short haired too. I can do it myself, but if you can, take him to a pro to get his coat thinned. Th...

Re: barking at the neighbours

YEah. I've only brought Shiloh in when she's going off on one. On the odd occassion I leave her out out on her own to see how she copes. She does quite well, and I give her a big hug etc. She tends to "guard" the pathway. When people do get the chance to stroke her, she continues to bark. ...

Re: barking at the neighbours

The biggest challenge ever has turned up. Just as she's started getting used to to coming to me when she goes off on one at the kids nextdoor, our roof is being re-tiled. Builders are everywhere. Barking at people on the other side of the fence. She's very well trained when it comes sitting, lying down, paw, staying besides me etc. I've taught...

Re: Barking at strangers

This is very useful. Certainly nothing I expected. Ok, so the theory of bringing her "anciety" (did I spell that right?) down has gone completely out of the window. I can unstand why she would be scared of people, as I suspect she wasnt treated well from the place where to got her as a pup...

Barking at strangers

I have an Alaskan Malamute cross German Shepherd. Her name is Shiloh, and is 10 years old. Since birthday, she's never trusted strangers. Being a puppy, it wasnt a problem. But now she's a adult, and fully grown, when people come up to her (as she's a people magnet!) she's goes off on one! Barking a...
