Re: Protective of "his" neighborhood.. ?

I think these neighbors give off a 'bad' vibe, and they are the ones with a problem, not Ari!! Your situation happened to me all the time when I had Bear. They are both big, intimidating dogs and people tend to be unsure of them, which in turn makes the dogs become unsure of those people. Bear...

Re: Would you consider this unfair?

I have the same rule. I don't think you're being unreasonable at all! And to be honest, the dogs understand this rule MUCH better than my husband! I don't allow anyone in my teeny tiny kitchen while I'm cooking.

Re: I found out what the horrible smell was

Oooh Nettle! I was doing that too recently, until my husband finally thought to pull the bed out from the wall where we found a very, very old and moldy kong with (I think) peanut butter inside.

Re: Allergies

I'm sorry if you've already posted this somewhere and I missed it, but have you had her tested to see what exactly she is allergic to? I see you mention grass, but are there any food allergies?

It is expensive, but worth every penny IMO :)

So happy Sasha is with you now!

So happy for you! And happy for his old family too. I'm sure they're sad, but having peace of mind that he's gone to such a wonderful home must be such a relief.

Bear has gone to the bridge.

Unfortunately after feeling better for a couple of days, Bear took a turn for the worst and we euthanized him yesterday. It broke our hearts to do it, but watching him struggle to breathe was worse. Our house feels so strange and empty. I feel like I'm missing my arm or something. He was such a big ...

Re: Need help and hugs.

The support here is so, so appreciated. I am unbelievably grateful for all of you. I will post as soon as I learn anything. In the meantime, I've been giving Bear lots of low fat but yummy and unprocessed food.

Re: Need help and hugs.

Thank you. I was doing some reading this morning and I read about feeding a low fat diet, so you are definitely helping Mikee. Thank you Nettle and JudyN. While I 'hurry up and wait', I will do as much research as I can. Bear is the first pet I have owned as an adult. I'm finding it difficult to not...

Need help and hugs.

We finally took Bear to the vet based on Emmabeth's recommendation and a respiratory issue which I definitely noticed but did not think was serious. I was thinking more along the lines of kennel couch, something that would resolve itself in an otherwise healthy dog. What was supposed to be a daily r...
