Re: bad fight

Wow, I'm so sorry this happened to you. Owning two female dogs can and will come to that at times, it's inevitable and it's really not your fault. My two girls used to fight all the time and it's just a terrible feeling when you don't know what to do. What I do to break up a fight is a bucket of wat...

Re: My Jindos

Of course if they love their owner they will work with them. They might work strictly just to make their owners happy.
I feel like Jindos are like this, 'I love you and want to make you happy but I still have to think for myself."

Re: Special Need Dogs

I've thought quite a lot about it and I decided I would only do this when I feel it is the right time.
I've also told myself realistically that sometimes things won't work out as well. :X

Re: Special Need Dogs

;P Haha, sounds a lot like how I'm managing my dog now. I never know what to expect from her, she dances to the beat of a different drum.

Special Need Dogs

In the future I plan to adopt a special need dog, not special as in missing limbs, blind, deaf, and etc.
I mean a dog that has had little to socialization and has problems adapting to the world.

Does anybody have some advice on what would be helpful in cases like this?

Re: My Jindos

I agree with a lot of the things you say. Here's some stuff I've learned Some more information about jindos is that in Korea there is no leash law, so a lot of jindos are just let loose, despite being off leash many of them always stay near their home because they know that is where they belong. So ...

Re: My dog is scared of bicycles, freaks out and cries very loud

Your dog being afraid of bicycles shouldn't be some kind of big problem that needs to be fixed, it's a fear your dog has and will probably be a part of him, and from what you're saying perhaps there isn't anything that you can actually do for him that can stop him from fearing bicycles. Sometimes do...

Re: My Jindos

Haven't posted in a long time. http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q126/Eakiller/Pictures132.jpg As I learned, the internet cannot be really trusted and you can research breeds only so much. Guess that's what you come to understand when you actually raise a dog. It's always said Jindos cannot be trus...

Re: heel nipping with a samoyed puppy

What I think is if you're giving her the treat to make her let go, the mentality of the dog would be something like, 'every single time I grab onto this person, they will give me a treat.' I think if you give her a treat AFTER she has let go on her own without being tempted with a treat would help h...

Re: heel nipping with a samoyed puppy

Wait, you're giving the pup a treat to make her let go? I would think that would make her believe that nipping = treats Why not have her on a leash and have someone walk by, if she lunges at their feet, you can pull her away and tell her no and make her back away. If you do this, it has to be done r...

Re: Why is she doing this?

Is this some insane jealousy issue? Or over-protectiveness? Both? D: resource guarding would be where I would start. Maybe a little jealousy type behavior thrown in. over protective.....I don't know. I would look at resource guarding type behavior first before going down the "protective" ...

Have you ever used another toy as a bait to make him drop the toy he has in his mouth?

Why is she doing this?

Sonata has matured a lot over the past year. She doesn't pick fights with Gong-ju anymore, they get along pretty well and has been tolerating it when I go to pet her. Main problem now is when there's another dog over. I've dogsat for my friends Yorkie a couple time and he and Sonata get along pretty...

Re: blue tick/walker hound mix pup..please help!!!!

The toy issue can be solved by buying a tougher tough that can't be obliterated so quickly. And you should watch your pup a little more closely to make sure she isn't getting into things that can potentially be dangerous to her. You shouldn't overdo exercising with puppies. 4 miles for a 3-4 month o...
