Real fur toys are REALLY high value for some dogs and Maddie seems to be one. You can either attempt to never let her see one again, which I personally think is a shame...... or you can flood her with them, have LOADS of them, she cant hoarde them all! Oh my. I went right out after reading this and...

Oh man. We had a really bad relapse today. We were in puppy class today and someone brought in a tiny little squeak toy. (It was one of those with real fur) Anyway, Maddie got a hold of it and LOST HER FREAKING MIND growling if anyone so much as looked in her direction while she was holding it. I im...

AHHHHHH........ Beat husband over head with rolled up newspaper.... or better still, next time hes eating something (preferably something you eat with your hands, forks are a dangerous weapon), swipe it off him as its about to reach his mouth, and then sweetly say 'oh but its ok, im going to give i...

Worst. Week. Ever.
Ugh. These past 3 days I've had a tough time with my 13 week old pup. First the rocks and then this. I've had her for a little over a month with no real problems. Now, I'm getting hit with 2 problems that I'm unsure about handling properly in the span of 3 days. What a freaking week. Anyway, Maddie ...

Rock Eater
I can't get Maddie to stop eating rocks. If there is a rock outside, she will find it and attempt to eat it. This concerns me because I'm afraid she'll get one stuck inside her. I had a cat once who ate a rubber stopper and needed a pretty expensive surgery to remove it. I don't want this to happen ...

Yeah, I noticed that too. He is quick to put down every other method....but he never really mentions exactly what HE does. I combed through his site looking for specifics, but he is purposely vague about it. Just calls it 'non verbal control' or something or another. Personally, it's hard to take hi...

Re: Puppy class incident
Towards the end of the class I crouched down to praise her for something and as I did so she grabbed the clip-on treat bag I had attached to my trousers. I then stood upright and took the treat bag out of her mouth (as I have done on may occasions before without any trouble) to which her response w...

Housebreaking Blues
Well, today we have a pretty bad thunderstorm in our area and it scared the bejesus out of my little girl. Early this morning, Maddie refused to come out of her crate for her morning pee. She refused to eat her breakfast after that and I had to feed her later in the day. This threw her ENTIRE schedu...

My puppy wasn't interested in treats at first, either. Then, I cut back on how much I was feeding her and she magically seemed to get interested! Also, I don't bother to train her directly after she's eaten. I either train her before I feed her or a couple of hours after she's eaten. If she's a litt...
