Re: Crazy puppy
Thanks for all replies. Ozzy is the most obedient dog I know right now. The solution was really simple. Wait for the quarantine to end and go for walks so he can play with other dogs and bite them :) With biting us no sound helped - not yelping, not loud noises like clapping or stomping - just uh-uh...

Re: Crazy puppy
Believe you me - he is crazy :) every day at around 4 in the morning I have to hide under the duvet, as puppy wakes up and starts jumping on my head biting my hair off. His over-excitement is under controll right now. Well, almost. We just have him tired as much as we can. But he's not just ordinary...

Crazy puppy
I thought I knew everything about dog training till my golden retriever puppy arrived :) He's name is Ozzy and he is 10 weeks now. First time I see such a crazy puppy. I had to work a lot in order to learn how not to let him get overexcited. Now I know, excitement is under control (as much as you ca...

Re: Prong collar
As in Poland we are still fighting with traditional methods and prong collar lovers, I would like to know if any of you have any data on prong collar damage, or the feeling the dog gets. I discuss with some people who don't want to train their big dogs as they have their prong collar and they are ha...

John Fisher and his theory
I found the information on some polish forums about J. Fisher admitting he made a mistake creating theory about domination between spieces. Is anyone albe to provide me the source of this information if it's indeed true? There are still some "fans" of traditional training methods and domin...

Re: The dog scared of everything
I just talked to my grandma on the phone. Tried to explain her that it's not good to stick dog's nose into torn newspaper to show the girl she did bad. Of course she knows better then me ;) She didn't read as many books as me and her dogs were fine. BUT when I told her I asked one of the Victoria St...

Re: The dog scared of everything
She would surely like her dog to be more confident, as she can not go with her to the huge nice park - she would have to cross very busy street. The dog is her only companion and it's not a pleasure to see her hiding scared of the night-lamp (dog not grandma ;) ). I think grandma does exercise with ...

The dog scared of everything
About two years ago my grandma found a mixed-breed little/medium *****. She was left on the street in a small park in the city centre. Sitting all day long in one place. When some students decided to call for animal rescue team - my grandma said "no way" and took her home. The dog is affra...

Re: Golden Retrievers
I'll have a golden retriever puppy coming to my home early spring. And I'm trying to prepare best I can. Loads of reading, searching - and I have one question - cause I heard of two opinions on this matter. What is better for golden retriever puppy? Collar or harness?
