Re: Honey's dream harness

A friend of ours had a chihuahua and had problems finding one that would fit. We live in a rural area with very few pet related places to buy from. One salesgirl suggested a feret harness. Worked great as they ared much skinnier than most small dogs.

Re: Good small breed dogs

I may be a bit late responding to this one, but just found it. We have a 6 year old female lab. She's our third one. As we are now senior citizens, we have decided to start concentrating on a toy breed. So, we have now added a Pug tio our home. Prenny (lab) thinks that Sammi (pug) is her baby and ha...

Re: Double leash?

Thanks. I think it will solve a problem or two, particularly after watching Victoria utilizing them. We live in a rural area with nothing but Mom & Pop pet stores, but we are going to the "Big City" next week, even boarding our Pug at the "Petsmart Hotel". :) Will get one the...

Double leash?

On several episodes of IMOTD lately, I have noticed Victoria using a leash that clips to the harness and the collar. It seems that every time she says something about it, the phone rings, my husband walks in talking, etc. Do any of you know anything about it? She used it in yesterday's show (5/21/20...

Re: Live chats on new season? *edit

I am hoping that the regular type of episodes will be back, however, I found this one hysterical. A definitely interesting start of the season. Victoria shows just how bad some can get with spoiling their pups. I vow that I will never, ever accuse my husband of spoiling his pug again. I did find the...

Re: Dog eating cat poop

If I had answered this 3 days ago, I would have said our younger (6 yrs) cat can, but our older (13 1/2 yrs) can't. However, in a few hours, we will only have the younger cat. Our older cat's body is rapidly failing her to the point that she is unable to respond to us. We wil be taking her to the ve...

Re: Dog eating cat poop

Our pug is only 1/2 lb bigger than one of our cats!!!!! We can't cut a hole small enough to let the cats in but keep that sneaky pug out!

Re: Dog eating cat poop

Every dog we have ever had, had/has a passion for Kitty Krunchies! Cruuently, our 6 mo. old pug has been at it since she discovered that they taste yummy. Right after she has dinner, mid day, any time that she is home and not in her crate! Our 6 year old lab has even snuck out of her bed at night (s...

Re: Loose leash training by disabled owner

I suddenly thought that I'd teach myself first. DH has a 6 month old pug who he spoils rotten. Sammi pulls incredibly hard for such a small dog. So, I tried the stopping as soon as she pulled method. With just two short sessions, she had stopped pulling. She's a curious puppy, so doesn't always walk...

Never too old to learn.

I just thought I'd introduce myself before I get carried away with questions, comments, etc. I'm a retired senior citizen with an equally retired senior husband. Life without our critters would be dismal. I currently am owned by my third Labrador - 6 years old - (one chocolate and two black) while m...

Re: Loose leash training by disabled owner

Footsieb, why don't you put the Gentle Leader or get one for your lab? I was on a walker a little over two years ago, too, and had to walk my then-boyfriend's dog. Believe me, it was no easy feat but I did it anyway. I didn't have a Gentle Leader but I did have a head collar and used that because t...

Loose leash training by disabled owner

Penny is a 6 year old Lab who I got from a lab rescue 3 years ago. Her training was perfect in every way except pulling when on leash. At that time, I had some difficulties walking, so took her to a training class where we were taught using a treat held out in front of her (sort of like a carrot on ...
