Re: Vent!

Last time I got back from the dentist (first half of root canal about 10 days ago) Honey was very interested in sniffing my eye on the side I'd had the work done  she had a brief sniff of the side of my face and then a good investigation of my eye, I've no idea what that was about. Your eyes...

I breed working/field labs and have seen my fair share of lab puppies. She looks field to me.

My wife has been inventive again

Came home from walking the dogs and found my wife had been inventive as she couldn't find a trowel for the garden. http://affinitydogtraining.co.uk/free-d ... op-how-to/

Re: Weirdest dog-eating monsters?

I remember a few scary dog eating monsters. A few years ago we where at a street festival in Luton. We where working backstage and the dogs where keeping the sound engineers amused by teaching them how to play fetch the way they like. I took my golden girl lab for a wander around the streets as I we...

Re: bottle fed puppies

My bitches have always regurgitated food for the pups. The pups will eat it with allot more relish than solid food on its own. I think its the suckling action of the pups that causes the mom to regurgitate , the same way it causes her to have contractions in the first few days. On our last litter so...

Re: Raw Food Diet

I feed beef ribs, lamb ribs (breast) and pork ribs are fine. Spine is also ok to feed. Turkey legs are good to feed to but you have to get well reared ones as most commercially fed ones are pumped full of drugs so i tend to avoid. The weight bearing bone rule applies more to mammals than birds but a...

Re: ideas for motivators for a weight conscious dog

Feed a high quality kibble (something like orijen/totw) so that it a higher motivator but feed less of it to help with the weight gain. A dog will work harder for a small amount of high quality food over a large amount of junky food .(diet pet food contains loads of filler like grains).

Re: Vent!

Crufts was on the TV yesterday. I saw their behaviorist say repeatedly you have to be the pack leader as the most important training advice you can get. :x Having just spent the week convincing a client that her " dominant aggressive" pitbull ( according to her vet) wasn't destroying the h...

Re: shock collar

Don't worry about the collar feeling any pain. On the lowest setting a sledgehammer will feel like a "gentle vibration" to your e-collar.
