Positively reinforce unfavorable behavior
I'm a very strong advocate for positive reinforcement because my boxer responds much better to it. However, how do you use positive reinforcement when he does something unfavorable? I don't want to scold him but I want him to understand its bad.

8 month old Boxer eats too fast!
My puppy scarfs his food and barely even chews it at all. I've started feeding him with a toy, but i really don't think it should be necessary to feed him with a toy for the rest of his life. What are my options?

Changing Foods
Hey I am exploring possibly changing foods for my 6 month old Boxer. He is very energetic and burns a lot of calories, therefore, is about 8 lbs too skinny (said my vet). Right now I feed him Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream food. I previously fed him Diamond Naturals and he had constant diarrhea. W...

He knows sit and he's getting better with stay, but as soon as he sees people or dogs commands go out the window.

Help stop my Boxer from jumping!
Hello I've posted a topic before about my dog getting over-excited when he sees other people and dogs and goes absolutely crazy! Jumping, running, rough housing, etc. The other post led to answers as to why he's doing this, but I need help preventing it. I can't allow him to socialize with people or...

Should I neuter?
My 17 week old boxer has start the humping the game and is showing some signs of aggression if you take away his "humping toy". Is this a sign that he is ready to be neutered even though he is only 4 1/2 months old? I'm a strong advocate for neutering if you don't plan on showing or breedi...

Re: My boxer is too excited!
we take him for 2-3 walks a day (in addition to his bathroom trips), feed him about 20 ounces of food per day, and he can sit, lay, shake, and is about half way with stay.

My boxer is too excited!
I have a 17 week old boxer and he is very friendly, but plays rough and gets overly excited when he sees people. How do I train him to relax around people instead of jumping on them and getting all worked up?

Re: Food for puppy
Coffee cup is 11 ounces. My main concern is the smell and frequency of his stool. His weight is fine, he looks great. But if there is a digestive problem with the food I'm feeding him resulting in frequent smelly stool, then I think I need to make a change.

Food for puppy
Hey I have a 4 month old boxer puppy that I currently feed Diamond Natural Puppy food. He seems to need to poop quiet often, its very very smelly, and usually not firm. I was told by a colleague that the food was really good. What do you think of this brand, and will my pup benefit from switching to...
