Re: Taming Indiana
Thank you so much! Jax LOVES it. It's the only toy that holds his attention longer than 2 minutes.

Taming Indiana
On the Taming Indiana episode, what was the long stick with the toy attached called and where can we find one? I think that would really help my dog!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Biting
Thank you so so much!! When the game with me is over, should I bring him back inside so he doesn't have the chance to run around with the dogs? I had never really thought about going on a short walk for 5 minutes. We do clicker training for about 20 minutes a day, so we'll up that into a few more sh...

Re: Biting
He jumped up and bit at the dog sitter one time, but the dog sitter said he usually doesn't. Jax did it again, this time I was talking to my neighbor, who was inbetween our fences. Jax was barking at him, so I told him quiet, but when that didn't work- I threw his tug toy for him to fetch. He fetche...

Re: Biting
I think it is from over excitement. He tends to get over excited and spaz when I take him on a walk also. When he starts jumping up at me, I tell him "off" and "sit," but it doesn't do much. He doesn't really respond to commands when he gets over excited. We practice watch me in ...

Hi, I adopted my dog from a rescue and we have no idea of what his past is. We've had him for 9 months and made a lot of progress with him. When we first got him, we thought he was deaf, because he wouldn't turn his head for high pitched noises or whistling. He's not, just very focused on what he's ...

Re: Over Reactive Dog Behavior
This might be a bit of a dumb question, but how do I know if it is fear, or excitement or. . .anything else? He just seems like he wants to play so badly! I'll read up on the other posts. Thanks for all your advice so far!

Re: Over Reactive Dog Behavior
I probably should add that when he nipped the dog owner, she was coming over trying to calm him down by petting him. . . in the midst of his barking and lunging.

Over Reactive Dog Behavior
Hi! Thank you so much for all your help with Jax's last problem! This one is more serious I'm afraid. :( I got Jax when he was 5 1/2 months old, past his prime socialization time. Since he was a rescue dog, I don't know anything about his history. We live in a neighborhood with a ton of dogs and I w...

I adopted a six month old border collie/ lab mix three and a half weeks ago. I initially had difficulty walking him with a collar, so I got an Easy Walk harness (it was recommended to me). Between that and using Victoria's methods of stopping and turning around when a dog pulls, he was perfect on th...
