Re: MY DOG ATE WHAT??

I read about a dog who belonged to a young couple, had ingested something, the vet did the surgery and when the couple came to pick up the dog he showed them the fishnet stockings the dog had eaten.

Problem was they didn't belong to the wife. Ooops! Hubby was busted.

Re: Hmmm, Doggy books for Christmas.....

I just finished Don't Shoot the Dog, borrowed from a friend and it's a very good read. All the Patricia McConnell stuff is good, both her books and shorter pamphlets on specific issues The only other one on your list that I've read is Inside of a Dog by Alexandria Horowitz and would recommend it too...

Re: Anyone else given their dogs jabs themselves?

The best tip I can give is to use one needle tip to go into the bottles to mix the vaccines, draw up the vaccine, then before you are ready to inject the animal, put a new needle tip on the syringe. A sharp needle makes life a lot easier for both you and your pet. Good reminder, thanks. Doing sub-q...

Re: Karma Had A Tough Moment

What a smart dog!

When I take all my dogs with me and know that I'll be buying some things that they would love to eat I also take a small dog crate with me and put the food in it since a Suburban has no trunk to keep it away from my STARVING dogs. Poor babies

What, me worry ?

About a month ago I wrote about Frannie and her severe anxiety when I simply went out the door, even if she could still see me as I walked to the garage for just a minute. Well, between the DAP infuser, the Clomipramine twice a day and lots of practice for short times that I slowly increased and she...

Re: Un-Adoptables Episode

This was a great episode. I wasn't surprised by the fact that they had 3200 names in their volunteer database but so few who actually were involved. I was the volunteer coordinator for a once a month feral cat spay/neuter clinic and had about 400 names on my list but it was the same 20 or so people ...

Hello from the Blue Ridge Mountains

I'm Chris and I moved from Oakland, CA to this rural mountain community about 4-1/2 years ago when I retired. I had promised my dogs a creek or a pond of their own to play in and found a place with both. Clancy, Solly and Nikki have all passed at this point but for 8 years they were my "Awesome...
