Re: RECIPES: For Kongs, Meals, Treats, Snacks, and Food Toppings
Just a quick question. Are kongs safe to freeze? I think I vaguely remember from the distant science classes most of which I slept through, that rubber can't be frozen..But I've seen many people do it so I guess it's safe?

Re: FLEAS!!
If you read the papers that come in the frontline box it says protection against fleas can last up to three months, though monthly dosage is recommended if the dog has flea allergy dermatitis (something I think the company doesn't like people to know since they don't put it right on the box). Front...

Re: FLEAS!!
No, he is the only animal in the house, and no one's complained about getting bitten. He hasn't been itching after I flea combed him, so I'm a little bit relieved  Actually, he is currently not on Frontline. He was on it last month, but I didn't medicate him this month because I wasn't comfort...

FLEAS!!
I am visiting my friend's house for several weeks in Los Angeles, and on around second or third day of being here, I found him itching more than usual. So I flea combed him, and found two fleas and several little round things. I can't tell if they were flea eggs or flea waste. Now I'm worried that m...

Re: Exercise the Mind...
So, just a quick question. As I was reading through the post, it kind of occured to me that my dog usually sleeps when he has nothing to do..Is that...healthy?? Sometimes, when I'm trying to engage in some games, he looks at me like he has no idea when I want him to do, or like he's wondering if he ...

Re: Getting Used to CATS????
Thank you for your reply! I do have a flimsy baby gate-ish thing that I can secure near the doorway of the room that the cats are staying in. I think I will try it, though I expect things to get way louder. It's really difficult to settle him down once he sees cats. Would putting him on a leash be a...

I was just wondering if I can give raw fish?
I wanted to give my dog some fish for dinner sometimes, but I'm a little icky about giving him raw fish. Maybe cooked fish is ok?

Re: Heartworm Medication
So I visited my vet's office to get the heartworm tablets. But they told me they can't give me the whole packet because he is due for another hearworm test in September. When I checked his medical records, he got his hearworm test in March. Is it really necessary to get a heartworm test every six mo...

Getting Used to CATS????
Hello! I have a male Beagle, who is three years old. He's never really liked cats, I think partly because we never got him socialized to cats. In the beginning, we weren't familiar with socializing, so we thought that dogs naturally didn't like cats (how ignorant, eh?) So we always kept him away fro...

Re: Yet another RMB Question
So I recently read an excerpt from Victoria's Fat Dog Slim book about BARF diet. She mentioned that before you switch, you should consult a vet for any problems in your dog or your dog's breed that could cause trouble. But I kind of switched it without consulting my vet because I felt like any vet t...

Re: Yet another RMB Question
You want a fish body oil from a quality source. I use Kronch Salmon Oil :D It won't take long for him to become an expert at crunching bone  Oh yeah! He got better at crunching bone already! :D Though, he is not yet willing to crunch on the whole wing. I need to cut them up, and he'll chew on...

Re: Yet another RMB Question
Thank you for all of the replies! Very helpful! :D I've blended apples, carrots, broccolis, sweet potatoes, and celeries and froze them. Not sure if he'll like it though, because I haven't given it to him yet. But good news! Bagel finally ate the chicken! But I had to grind/mince it a little bit. I ...

Yet another RMB Question
Hello! I wanted to add my question to the other questions on the forum but there were too many..And reading more and more of the other questions on RMB, I started to get a little bit paranoid about if I'm doing this right. So this is how I broke it down: Feed 2-3% of body weight. Body weight: 25lbs....

Re: Heartworm Medication
ooo I see. Then I do believe he did get SNAP. Though they never mentioned it as SNAP. They always say that they tested for hearworm and that's it. The dogs that are sensitive to Ivermectin are collies and collie mixes - they lack the gene for the enzyme that transports the drug out of their brain on...
