Re: How to stop the licking?
Also, I'd love the information about raw feeding. I've been considering it for a while because I think my female (not the one who I have problems with) has allergies. We do have a large deep freezer so I think I could make it work.

Re: How to stop the licking?
Like I said, you seem to have a full plate so do not fall into the trap of thinking you need to solve everything right this second. which is why I suggested just cleaning up their poop soon as they go as the solution for now. We try to get them to come inside immediately...they seem to like it &quo...

Re: How to stop the licking?
Thanks! I do try to walk them as much as I can. I don't want you to think I'm full of excuses but pushing a double stroller, wearing a third child in a wrap, and managing a leash is quite challenging. They definitely don't walk well together so unless we are both going on the walk one dog always has...

Re: How to stop the licking?
Thanks everyone! I'll try to work on a little training every day. Not sure where to start because they don't really know how to do anything but sit. Everything I have tried so far has failed but I'm sure that's because I don't stick with it long enough. The poop thing is not a new change. It has bee...

Re: How to stop the licking?
Food motivated is good...but food motivated x2 leads to competition for the food and not paying attention to the actual training. Maybe I can talk the husband into doing some training. Problem is that the 5 month old doesn't sleep at the same times as the toddlers so he's rarely completely free. Wha...

Re: How to stop the licking?
Sadly, I know I don't give them as much mental exercise as I should, but I don't know how to fit that into my day. I have 3 kids under three and I work full time. They are never home alone unless we are running errands because my husband stays home with the kids, but most of the time it is just one ...

How to stop the licking?
We have a pair of 4 y/o lab mixes and the licking is driving me crazy. Im ok with the occasional lick while being petted but my boy dog especially goes after faces. He gets right in the faces of my 2 year olds which upsets them, and my 5 month old cannot even play because when she gets licked she br...

Re: Never satisfied with the attention we give
Thank you! I will go print out those articles right now. I do give them the raw beef bones, so at least I am doing one thing right  As for toys, I haven't found much that stands up to them. Most puzzle type treat dispensers amuse them for a day or two and then they break them. I have bought so ...

Re: Never satisfied with the attention we give
Ok. Do any of you have advice on training them on a loose lead, then? We spent 2 years before the twins were born trying to train them. We even did obedience training with a trainer. Nothing seems like it works. Treats are a nightmare because they act so food hungry that they lose focus on what we a...

Re: Never satisfied with the attention we give
We do take them for walks when we can, but it is not every day. They cannot be walked on a double lead and we have 22 month old twins, so unless both adults are home it is impossible. Even with both of us, we often take one dig and leave the other at home because it is very hard to push a double str...

Never satisfied with the attention we give
We have 2 Labrador retrievers who are 3 1/2 years old. They are able to play all day, go out whenever they want, and get plenty of room to run. Someone is almost always home with them as we have two small children. The problem we have is with our male dog, Guinness. No matter how much time we spend ...

Re: Episode 215 - Bulldog Battle - May 1
Victoria, I love your show and I am trying to use techniques to help my wild crazy dogs. When you did the "turn away" training you did it at the end with both dogs in the room together to help strengthen their impulse control. What do you do if the dogs are jealous of each other/compete ov...
