Re: Would this concern you?
I agree that the same liability issues would apply to both children and adults, but maybe there would be more likelyhood of something happening with a younger person that an adult. Although some youngsters are super with animals and should be encouraged, we do live in a different society than when I...

Re: Would this concern you?
I think one aspect that would worry me is the lack of Public Liability Insurance in case of the dog causing an accident/incident of some kind whilst out with a youngster.

Re: German Shepherds!
I gave a home to a beautiful white GSD called 'Ayla' some years ago. She was ten months old and her owner had to move and couldn't keep her - she'd been staying with the owner's 'ex' who had treated her quite badly. Her owner was keen to find her a home with a dog person rather than someone who just...

Re: Pet store trainings...?
If you go onto the tteam website, and contact the office, they can probably tell you which of the small animal practitioners are doing clinics, workshops and 'specials' at pet stores etc.

Re: where do i find chicken you train dogs with?
If you kook some chicken fillets in the oven, cook really well and leave in the cooling oven so they dry out a bit, then they're clean and dry to use. If you cut them up in small slices first, they cook and dry quicker and better.

Re: Cleaning Your Dog's Ears
I would only do it if I thought there was a problem. Aromesse do some ear cleansers and drops.

Re: Chasing Horses
Jenny.. my horses have been raised around dogs. So unless the dog bothers them they are really good with the dogs.. But Chaos seems to think it is fun to chase the horses that will run from him.. I have one stallion that plays with chaos and they get along great. But the other stallion is new and y...

Re: Chasing Horses
I know how dangerous this can be for both dog and horse. I keep my horses about 7 miles from home, and never, ever take my dogs with me to my horse fields. I have a very good reason - my big gypsy bred mare will chase and trample a dog if she gets a chance!! She once chased somebody's Labrador down ...

If the Bach doesn't work, you could try Anxiety drops - these helped my little Westie.

Re: Getting a dog interested in play
Interesting thread as I have an ex puppy farm breeding Westie who also looks a bit blank when asked to play!!! I've tried the nylabone things but she's not really interested. She has played a little bit with a rope toy though but looks blank if I throw a ball just a little way for her. She's approx ...

Re: Refusing to House Train
Thanks for that. I really have tried taking her into the garden and waiting, but she doesn't go when I'm with her no matter how long I stay outside for. It's not always possible to spend ages and ages outside because there are other things that take my time, like work etc. but I really have tried wi...
