Dog Rocks

Hi

I've searched the forum but cannot find anyone who's used these so my questions are do they harm the dogs in any way and if they pose no risk do they work?

They have been recommended by the grass care people to prevent burning from my 2 girls

Thanks

7 year old and 9 week old constant playing

Hi Since 24 hours after the new pup arrived my 7 year old has got a new lease of life reverting back to a puppy herself, from just calm relaxing 90% of the time the two dogs just want to play constantly. They both instigate the play equally and it is the 'mouthing' game which I am sure you are famil...

Re: Doggy not getting it

my pup is 9 weeks we are down to either none or 1 accident a day, that's actually really great progress. at 9 weeks they don't have much control and if you're having this kind of success, that is testimony to your vigilance on watching the little one! well done! Thanks for the encouragement, I know...

Re: Doggy not getting it

Hi I can't give you any advice but can share your concerns and my experience thus far, my pup is 9 weeks and she wont walk outside of her own accord at all at the moment. At first she would go out during the day 1 in 4 times but the other 3 I'd have to lift/carry her. At night I always have to carry...

Re: Dog pen or baby pen?

I couldnt find a difference between the babygates in terms of strength and most were metal, it was the height i was worried about. Thats why i chose the bettacare gate, its 104cm high and my bouncy lab didnt attempt to jump it once. We had the gate and 2 extentions to span the archway into the kitc...

Re: Dog pen or baby pen?

Thanks for the suggestions but I was hoping someone could tell me if I can use a standard mothercare type baby pen or require something from like the savic specifically for dogs? Is one more stable, sturdy and robust than the other? I'm not sure what the difference will be other than price as they w...

Re: How to toilet train your puppy or adult dog.

4. Do you mean when will she sleep the entire night? After 10 or 11 weeks old, mine has woken me once when he had an upset tummy. He sleeps right thru. But I'm very lucky with that, so go with what she needs- if she wakes you up rather than just go then you're doing great! Hi Sanna Thanks for your ...

Re: How to toilet train your puppy or adult dog.

I've read the thread and am doing as is suggested with my 9 week old, I just have a couple of questions: 1) I'm taking her out every 45mins but we get as far as the back door and she stops and doesn't want to go out, I offer big encouragement and through the day she will normally go out and pee. At ...

Re: Leaving a pup for the first time

I've not looked at anything quite that grand but I have just ordered one of those busy buddy squirrel toys that randomly dispenses treats, not sure if this wil do a similar job. She certainly likes her kong and I restrict access to that at the moment except when she's in the crate, it's a special tr...

Re: Leaving a pup for the first time

Yes I was thinking of a pen which could be converted into a room divider as she gets bigger. I was looking at the Savic deluxe but it's quite pricey and wondered if a baby pen would do the same job for half the price. In the end I think I'd like to go for an Orvis divider but need to make sure it's ...

Re: Leaving a pup for the first time

Thanks for the advice. To give an update the crate training is coming on but slowly. She will now go in and out to look for treats 3-4 times an hour without prompting to check it out. She is happy to go in to be fed and I've dropped in treats and she will go in, I can suit the door for a minute or 2...

Leaving a pup for the first time

Any advice how to approach this? We bought a crate and hoped she'd take to it quickly but although she'll go in to eat and check for treats regularly she wont settle in it and so it's not time yet to close the door on her yet. The problem is I do need to leave her alone for an hour and I'm not sure ...

Re: Dog pen or baby pen?

Already have a small crate for sleeping but she's not taking to it as fast as I'd like so I thought that the pen would give me an option to be able to leave her in a safe place while I wonder round the house building up to her first spell at home alone by the middle of this week for an hour.

Re: Dog pen or baby pen?

I'll try and figure out how to post some photos for you tomorrow. She's just 8 weeks old, collected her on Thursday, a teething, chocolate dobermann *****. Weighing in at 6.2kg, full of beans and totally disrupting the peaceful life of the family including my 7 year old ***** - who's got the patienc...

Re: Dog pen or baby pen?

I'd forgotten how much they like to chew as well Judy as it's 7 years since we last had a puppy but in 48 hours it's all come flooding back along with getting up at 3am and 5am for toilet times I can vouch for that  I will get one of those for when she's a bit older as it will be great for kee...
