About a week or so ago I posed the question Boxer dog training, Is it too late? Well my two bouncing boys are now on a residential training course, I took them on Saturday, drove 100miles to Lancashire to their home for the next 3 weeks, I am soooooo missing them....I feel like I've failed them as i...

Re: Everybodies favourite subject Stools!!
Just a quick update and a thank you to Fundog and Duffy. Been adding butternut squash and some fibre pellets to the boys food and it really has worked well. Jonte in particular is a lot better. Thinking of trying oats as well as butternut squash is seasonal and hard to get frozen, peas don't go down...

Everybodies favourite subject Stools!!
Hi peeps Just curious as to opinions. My 6mnth old boxer, like alot of boxers, has loose stools. First stool of the morning is fine, then when I arrive home its fine, then after his lunch its really quite loose, then after any he does seems to be loose. He has nothing different to eat in between, hi...

Re: Head collar or harness??
I have found some harnesses make the dog pull more the just take they pressure off the walker rather than stop the dog pulling. I find a harness I saw VS use works best, goes over the head and under the arm pits so to speak, when he pulls it lifts him off the ground. I still aim to walk both without...

Re: Head collar or harness??
I'm confused, I agree that the head collar gives the feeling of less control and could damage the dogs neck, but I have seen Victoria use just a head collar on dogs that pull, thought that was the point of them, using them on dogs that pull.....never seen them used with a harness as well...............

Re: Vibrating Collars?
Sweetie these are not positive training, there are times when they may be useful like with a deaf dog but for normal dogs they are usually used by lazy owners who can't be bothered to put the work in to train their dogs. Dogs trained with these are never as reliable as dogs trained positively. &quo...

Vibrating Collars?
Hi guys my boys are doing quite well together, I've seen some people locally using vibrating collars to break the distraction of there dog when they can't get there attention. On the whole the boys are getting better and I feel more in control than before, though trying to walk a 2yr old and 6mnth o...

Re: My boxer won't focus!!
All advice is helpful, we do sometimes double back on ourselves to avoid other dogs, I've tried the backward forward move with Jasper to get a loose leash walk but he actually gets quite excitable, tenses up and tries to predict when I'm gonna turn if he walks in front of me, never had a dog like hi...
