Reasons

when as an owner, you are already stressed and worried about your dog, I understand about stress a lot more than I say, I spent 11 years under a great deal of stress taking care of my late husband 24/7 as well fighting to get him the help he needed. The stress I was under has ruined my health, I do...

Re: Collars

Emmabeth makes lovely leather collars and will make them to suit your dog, Ellie's leather harness that I put up in the first Rescue Remedies Auction was made by Emmabeth, it was perfect for Ellie and fitted really well so no rubbing. Her web site is http://www.canis-equus.co.uk

Re: HELP WITH BEHAVIOUR ISSUES PLEASE!

Hi, Thanks for the responses (although I do feel like I'm being told off Mattie which doesn't help when you are already feel stressed and worried about the situation! I know, there are no bad dogs, just bad owners and it looks like that I'm in that category) :(. It isn't easy giving clear informati...

Re: Jekyll and Hyde dog

Mattie - 'completely stressed out' is right! I've never had a dog this difficult, this tiring, this dangerous. When I first met him, I took turns playing with him with my husband and adult son - a bit of clicker, a bit of throwing toys for him to fetch (or not...), a chat with the owner, a bit more...

Re: HELP WITH BEHAVIOUR ISSUES PLEASE!

Hi everyone, I have a Shih Tzu Bichon cross called Percy. He is almost 3 and we have two major issues with him. To give a little bit of background, the breed isn't one we were familiar with but my two sons fell in love with him and so did we. From what I understand on reading up about the breed, th...

Re: Okay, call me stupid perhaps.......

but I've never done this before !! I think this morning I might have realized a difference between 'let' Jamie out and 'take' Jamie out. We call them senior moments and everyone has them, I seem to have more than most people. I was letting her out; I'd take her out, hook her on her outside le...

Re: Jealous dog

Sorry there has been so much spam on here recently that a lot of posts have been missed. I have a neutered female dog, Missy, I rescued 4 years ago who I assume is most likely a rat terrier. I have never been able to completely housebreak her For toilet training her have a look at http://positively....

Re: Separation Anxiety - Timing & Reinforcement

Mattie, I agree about the dog losing interest being stronger and more beneficial, its hard though. Everything I do is so exciting to the dog lol! Of course everything you do is exciting, she is a normal dog, everything I do is exciting to my dogs as well but they learn that sometimes I can't do wha...

Re: Desperately Need Help With Walking My Ponies

We adopted two dogs that had been abandoned at my work (close to many horse farms). However, we were not aware of how big they were going to become. We now have two small ponies - German Short Haired pointer/Great Dane mix. We were completely unaware of what we were getting into, but I fell in love...

Re: Jekyll and Hyde dog

The reason I only said vet check and didn't say anything about the problems is because often owners are not in a position of taking in a lot of information because they are completely stressed out with the problems, like dogs humans don't take information in very well when stressed. Little and often...

Re: Jekyll and Hyde dog

You need a full check, including in the bloods for thyroid test, there are 2 of them, you want the better one. Your vet should test all his joints and spine to see if there is any pain. A lot of problems will show up in blood tests quite some time before there are symptoms of them so you want as muc...
