Re: dog bullying
Hi, thanks for your response, the previous thread you posted was also very interesting. We don't usually go to dog parks, I just thought it would be something different for us to do rather than a walk, I'm not sure we will try it again though. I also didn't want to be the "overbearing" par...

dog bullying
I took my dog to a dog park today and had an awful experience. Another dog would not leave my dog alone and kept trying to hump him and kept sticking his nose up in his butt. My dog did everything to ward off the attacks, he would growl and snap at this dog, he ran away from the dog, he layed down, ...

How long with diarrhea before go to vet?
Hi, my dog has had diarrhea now for 24 hrs. It's been bad enough that he woke me up in the middle of the night to go and then all day today as soon as he has to go, he freaks out at the back door because he has to go really bad. It was brown until recently, now it is yellow. He's acting pretty letha...

Lying down when other dogs approach
Hi, I was watching tonight's episode and had a question about when Victoria was working on exposing Max to other dogs. At one point, Max layed down frontwards like he was going to pounce and Victoria said that was not good behavior which is why she would not reinforce it. This confused me because I ...

Re: suddenly being aggressive after 2 1/2 years
Hi, thanks for your responses. Unfortunately, my bed is too high for him to get on and off on his own, which is why I have to pick him up to put him in his kennel. DGTrainer101, I like your idea of making it a game and that he gets rewarded when he is off the bed, but how do I get to that point, whe...

suddenly being aggressive after 2 1/2 years
Hi, I have a 2 1/2 year old Coton de Tulear whom I've had since he was 9 weeks old. I've been training him since he was a puppy and he's very obedient, we've even done agility together. But in the last month, he has started to have some aggressive tendencies which is out of character for him and for...

Afraid his mom is a bad cook!
In the last two months, my smoke alarm has gone off three times while cooking. I swear I'm not a bad cook! Well, when this happens, my dog runs into the bedroom in his kennel. Unfortunately, the last time this happened, the alarm was going off for about 5 minutes and it's not an alarm that yo...

Re: Bed Wrestler!
Well, he is known as the "Toy Destroyer" around here so the only soft toys he has do not have stuffing. He likes to flail those around and pull out the squeakers. Otherwise I do not give him toys with stuffing.

Bed Wrestler!
Against my better judgement, I got my dog a bed for Christmas. I say this because I've gotten him beds in the past which he has wrestled and ripped holes in and humped them. I thought for sure, this one would be different, but unfortunately, my dog just cannot resist a big, lumpy, furry bed. ...

Re: licking= stressed out?????
I agree with Emmabeth, some licking can be normal. My dog has developed a night-time ritual where as we are hanging out in my bed before he goes to his kennel-he licks my stinky feet! I've been thinking of getting him a job doing pedicures actually!

Re: Getting a dog interested in play
My dog was not that interested in tug either but I was advised by another trainer to try moving the toy around on the floor. Doing that simulates prey.
I've been working with my dog on this and he has become more interested in certain toys and we now play tug.

Kathy Sdao Seminar?
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has attended one of Kathy Sdao's Seminars and what you thought? I'm thinking of going to one but it is quite pricey. Let me know what kind of experience you had and if it's worth it. Thanks!

Pulling Hair Off Tail
In the last two weeks my dog has started to pull big chunks of hair off of his tail. The part where he has pulled looks red but I'm not sure if that is irritated from him pulling it off or if his skin was irritated in the first place. He is also very sensitive when I try and touch it. It's not horri...

Re: Need Help With Dog Humping
As soon as he starts humping or nipping you, you need to get up and leave. If you do that consistently, he will realize that when he does that to you, you leave and that's no fun.
