Vaccuum Cleaners and Anxiety
Hi All, I have a approximately 3 year old female German Shepherd that I have had for about 2 years. I have already posted on her anxiety issues with people in the house which currently is still an issue but we are working on it. She gets plenty of exercise (usually a good long run in the morning and...

Re: Fearful Aggression Issues
Thanks, I am not taking anything as fast as people seem to think in my posts. I am just wondering if I do need to move faster. The general consensus is not to so I will listen and can accept that. Having not done this before I don't actually know when I am pushing my dog too hard and when I am not p...

Re: Fearful Aggression Issues
Thanks for all the advice. I do work on training as well at home because we both think it is fun. So far she is able to do all the basics: sit, down, stay, shake. And then some more advanced things: touch, bow, circle, relax (down with hips turned over like lounging) and 50% of the time play dead. S...

Re: Fearful Aggression Issues
Actually I do exactly what ladybug was suggested. I don't have a crate because I was told that she had crate issues to start with so I didn't want to spend money on something that she would not use. When people come over, I have them either give me a call prior to arrival or estimate time of arrival...

Re: Fearful Aggression Issues
Thanks for all the replies. As for the drug she is on it is Clomipramine. She is in my bedroom with toys that she can work with to try and get treats from them to provide some mental stimulation. She gets plenty of exercise as she went for a run and two walks today and she is currently sprawled out ...

Fearful Aggression Issues
Hi All, I have a 3 yr old German Shepherd Dog that I adopted about 1.5 years ago. I am actually having training issues with trainers so I thought I would ask some questions here. Since that comment will make some people blink, I should explain that it seems that either they are unprofessional, going...

Thanks for the help
I just wanted to thank everyone for the suggestions. I did want to clarify one point though. I don't encourage or force her to greet strangers especially on the street however the trainer I work with suggested that any positive reaction towards greeting was something to encourage and she mentioned t...

I suppose I should be more clear about the behavior at home. On a leash she does not show signs of aggression at all persay other than barking. At home she puts her tail between her legs and definitely shows signs of what some would call defensive aggression. She is obviously wants them the guests t...

Defensive Aggresive Dog
Hi All, I am in the process of adopting a 18 month year old female German shepherd. I am currently fostering her. The main issue besides prey drive for squirrels is that she is very shy and frightened of some people. I am thinking that someone did something wrong to her in the past. When we walk on ...
