I LOVE you for being sensible and realising that 'no bite' means nothing to your dog - you might as well say anything else such as 'parquet flooring'. That's awesome, I think I'm going to teach my dog the "parquet flooring" cue. I'm not sure what I'll link it to, but I think that's awesom...

Congrats on the new dog, I'm so jealous! I want a samoyed so badly. I know a lot about them, so I think I may be able to help. First, you are going to have to work hard with this dog. Samoyeds are strong headed because they were bred that way. As sled dogs, they had to be able to ignore commands if ...

That's not a good idea. There are oils and germs on our hands that could break down the chemicals in the spray.

Ignore her when she cries. About 3 seconds after she stop crying (or 3 second breaks in crying) tell her good girl and treat her and praise her. She will learn that when she stops crying, good things happen. When she cries, nothing happens. She'll learn quick. It could take a while, like 15-30 minut...

Re: Need help with RECALL and leash training!!

After a while, I will unhook her from the lead and after two times of saying "Cadence here!", she takes off running around the neighborhood. It's as if she knows exactly when she is off the lead and just refuses to listen when she's off it! Any ideas as to why she does this and what I can...

I picked the boxer first (upper left hand corner, very first pic) because that little guy looks JUST LIKE my nephew dog (my brother-in-law's dog, that's what we call him) who is an AmStaff. After that I got the right one. :D I'm surprised that Viszla was in there, who would mistake a Viszla for a p...

Just goes to show though doesn't it the 'Doberman killer / attack dog' hysteria has died away and was replaced by the 'Rottie killer dog' hysteria, which has now also (to some extent at least) been replaced by 'devil dog pitt bull & pit bull 'types'. Yeah, what really annoys me is the fact that...

One last thing and you probably have thought of this already but... You already have one 'controversial' breed.. in the eyes of the hysterical tabloid reading public.... A rottie is even more controversial than a Dobie these days.... if you dont have people crossing the road to avoid you and Ellie ...

Cheese is fine to give to dogs, they love it! I know a pug that enjoys the string cheese for kids that comes in individual packages, cheddar+mozzerala combined. And she's a big competitor in show rings, so I'm sure it's good for her :)

I'm afraid Nettle is right. I don't think now is a good time for you to take on another dog. Don't worry, the time will come. I don't have a dog at the moment, though I'd love one, because I know I can't provide the full care it needs. Sometime in the near future, though, hopefully :) Good luck with...

Yeah, this is a great one! I know many terriers who would attest to this! :)
