Has your vet tested for pancreatitis? Sounds similiar to symptoms my Jessie had. We treated her with fluids, antiobiotics and very, very slowly reintroduced food once her stomach calmed down. I really had to watch her diet for fat content after, but she did quite well and lived to be 17.

If Kane has some raw skin showing on his feet you want to be on the look out for infection. A call or a trip to the vet may be in order for an antiobiotic cream for his pads and a bootie to cover them while they heal. If it weren't for the fact he went to a dog park, I would have suggested he had so...

You may want to read the fine print at the bottom of your link. The Grand prize winner receives 33,000 annually. That's if the contest is legitamite. As some of the other posters have suggested, you may want to get involved locally at one of your shelters or rescue groups since you seem to have such...

No, that's not me in the facebook picture. Although I did get a similiar picture I'll post it later on. Cookielover96 I actually spoke to her briefly about this forum and commented on how much I've learned from everyone here. I didn't want to take up too much of her time as she was being pulled in s...

What a great turn out at Puppy Mill Awareness Day. Lots of different rescue groups, & lots of dogs of course. Victoria's speech was brillant of course. I loved the comment she made regarding the "religious" and how could people who proclaim to be Christian treat dogs so unethically. (i...

Anyone going to Awareness Day?

Just wondering if anyone is planning on going to Puppy Mill awareness day this Saturday 9-19 at Intercourse Community Park? I'm planning on going with my 3 westies as I really want to hear Victoria speak. I believe she's slotted from 2:30-3.

One of my westies always brings me a squeeker toy when I come home. I always say, "Oh you brought me your baby!" She lets me take it and I look at it say thank you and give it back to her. She's very happy to just show me. I once thought she wanted to play and I threw it for her. She just ...

I have 3 Outward Hound life jackets for my westies. My girls absolutely love swimming in the pool. It's been so hot, high 90's with high humidity that they have been swimming instead of their usual walks. The vests give the dogs just some extra confidence to swim without working too hard. Of course ...

Ditto to what was said so no need to repeat. But I also want to comment that since your puppies are 14 weeks old a general rule of thumb for walks with puppies is about 5 minutes per month of age. So a 15 minute walk is really all that they need for exercise and that any longer than that isn't a rea...

We have heard of the potty patch. Like fake grass that goes indoors. Has anybody had experience with using that? I have a friend that uses it for her chi's. She really really likes it and her dogs learned it use it very quickly. A good solution for her as she didn't want to crate her girls for long...

was just kind of hoping that maybe since we didn't do a good job of the introductions to begin with if when I brought him home we could maybe have a "redo" and do a proper introduction to help solve some of our issues I don't think it would hurt. You would want to begin the introduction i...
