Re: Dental cleaning/exam
Hey Nettle: glad to see you are still on this forum. It’s been a while since I’ve been here. Yeah I think vet1 is over zealous n wants to make payments on her vacation home in Maui😖 Vet2 sounded more logical however I’m still wondering about the laser. Vet2 doesn’t use laser, but it did sound good i...

Re: HELP Abby ate a whole apple
My Max once ate 6 donuts. He is around 43 lbs. Well I was worried about all that sugar of course but nothing happened. I called vet & they said just watch out for diarrhea, but he was fine. I know the feeling of being alarmed when they eat something they shouldn't

Re: turning gray
wow I've never seen a dog with a completely gray/white face like your boxer. I'm sure he was beautiful till he crossed the bridge. It makes sense that graying is a breed thing. I thought maybe it was but wanted to know what others thought. Generally I think graying reminds us of how short a time we ...

Re: City orders dog to be destroyed for jumping
Wow! My dog jumps up & bumps people's noses too but he is only 42 lbs. Fortunately he hardly does it anymore. This article showed me that this is a lesson to be learned.I hope that Dobie is given a 2nd chance.

Re: Ari and an impulse control exercise
Ari already has great impulse control. He is absolutely brilliant. :D I must mention however that VS does not train "leave it" that way. You see once a dog is told to "leave it", he CANNOT have what he was told to leave. He is given a different higher value treat & the "...

why do dogs roll in_______?
insert your own answer, poo, grass, etc. My friend's dog loves to roll in coyote poop! Why does she want to roll in it? Many dogs roll in the grass, or snow, but coyote poop? smh... the other night Max threw up on the driveway then proceeded to rub his face in the adjacent dried up grass. At first I ...

Re: Rupert Bear has gone to the Bridge
Haven't been around the past 6 mths or so but I am so sorry to hear about Rupert. He was a great dog! A famous dog behavior personality (the one who pokes) often says : "we don't always get the dog we want we get the dog we need " You needed Rupert to teach you, and when you are ready you ...

Re: ducks!
Max never hunted before. He's a GS/Chow mix. He chases squirrels, cats, rabbits, but never hunted.
He would've definitely went after a goose too. Goose might teach him a lesson tho. lol...
If duck taste nasty msybe if he killed it & tasted it he would've left it.
