Head collars for reactive/aggressive dogs

Are head collars a good tool to use to help me gain control of my reactive dog? He lunges at cars on our walk. I am scared he will hurt his neck.

Re: Dog born with mental issues?

thank you! this dog has been a battle from day one. professional recommend him being PTS. I found meds, made his an almost normal dog. now the meds are not working nearly as good as they did in the past. I imagine we will have to adjust the dose and switch to something else. i am not giving up on th...

Re: Diamond? Recalls...?

my views on ethoxiquin have changed. I feed TOTW pacific stream now. I found out that those studies about ethoxiquin causing cancer were done ON RATS! Orange juice and artificial sweetener also causes cancer in rats! and rats are not dogs. I have determined that ethoxiquin being horrible and deadly ...

Re: high protien= more reactive, hyper, aggressive dogs?

thanks for the help everyone. I do not know what grain Ruckus is sensitive too. I honestly cannot afford an allergy test at this time. Ruckus is doing great on TOTW pacific stream. it has much lower protein than the other formulas. I really do think that this is going to work for us. I was hoping to...

Re: Biting problem. Need help!

well, my sheltes are bathed twice a month!
they roll in horse crap, go outside in the woods and get into burs... a good bath with conditioner makes them slide out with no problem.
AND it actually helps keep on top of shedding if done properly.

We have a problem

I am sick of it! I am sick of Ruckus lunging at people, chasing cars, barking all of the time, attacking the vacuum/broom/mop, and I am so sick of never having anyone over because they are scared of Ruckus (they should be, he bites) I cannot believe i let it get this bad. I have bought countless boo...

high protien dog foods and behavior

for some dogs a high protein food is like rocket fuel and may make reactivity worse. (some lady from agility said that) Has anyone heard of this? from Pet Food Choice - Diet and behaviour with dogs and cats Effect of dietary protein content on behavior in dogs. Dodman NH, Reisner I, Shuster L, Rand ...
