I used to feed a homecooked diet because I had a dog who had to many food allergies so I was able to control them by making his food myself. It was a pain and I was always afraid they were not getting the proper balance of nutrients. When he died I went to a premium dog food and have not looked back...

I like Taste of the Wild, its an all stages grain free food, its s lower protein then EVO. I dont care for EVO unless you have a dog who is actually working and really active.

I would take her to the vet for a complete bloodwork up to rule out thyroid issues, if everything checks out, I would change her food to a lowfat protein food and maybe add fresh or frozen green beans to it.

First you are dealing with a dog that is at least half, bred to work, so make sure she is getting alot of exercise, both physically and mentally. A walk in the neighborhood, doesnt cut it for my Mini Aussie, he needs to run daily as well as short training sessions. He is also a toy addict, the noise...

I dont like to leave tennis balls out, if I have a dog that is going to chew it. The outside is very hard on the enamel of the dogs teeth and will actually wear them flat. The tire toys are pretty undestructable as are many of the tug toys.

He looks terrier mix. he is darling! He reminds me of my Callie. The rescue I got her from as a puppy said she was terrier/pom mix, but I dont see Pom in her at all. (Yes she is holding an avocado, all my dogs LOVE the avocados that fall on the ground in the groves!) http://i8.photobucket.com/albums...

Re: Treats

My dog needs serious distraction when I am I trying to socialize him. I found the thing that works best is small boiled pieces of chicken and/or tiny chunks of cheese. Cheese can give them diarrhea though, so not too much. You need to go to Cleanrun.com and get the Control Unleashed book by Leslie ...

I tried all the holistic approaches to flea control and none of it did squat and it did nothing for ticks. FrontlinePlus works great here, I have to use it monthly during the summer and in the winter maybe once in December then they are good until Spring when ticks start showing up. I have never had...
