Which method do you prefer when teaching loose leash walking? Which method gets more results?
*Stop and stand like a tree-don't move until dog looks at you
OR
*Turn around and walk in the opposite direction
I noticed that Victoria seems to always use the turn around technique.

Daily walking is a MUST. When my dogs don't get enough exercise it really effects their mood. They are more destructive and tend to bicker with each other. I almost never see other people walking their dogs in my neighborhood, but you see lots of frustrated dogs behind fences. I feel bad for them. D...

Beagle sniffing on walks?
I've posted quite a few questions about loose leash walking on the forum. After reading all the posts I think I've got some good advice to get started with. I'm going to try training my female Beagle by herself. My question is about my male Beagle. He doesn't pull forward, he pulls SIDEWAYS. He will...

question about clicker treats during walk
I have tried and tried to train my dog to walk loosely on a leash using the clicker with no success. The main problem is that my dog will walk next to me, so I click and give a treat, then she pulls full steam ahead. She will walk that way for a few minutes, then look at me, realize she'll get a tre...

HELP! My dogs are pulling!
I have two Beagles and they PULL LIKE CRAZY on a leash. I have tried every harness and head halter/collar on the market, wasting hundreds of dollars because none of them worked. My female dog pulls like a freight train even if something bothersome is on her head, she'll pull right through the discom...

Prong collar?
I'm probably opening up a mess by posting this, but I wanted to get some advice/feedback from others. I have two Beagles and have tried every kind of harness and collar on the market. I've spent a ton of money buying each new thing a trainer suggested in the hopes that the would finally STOP pulling...

I adopted my dog after she had twice been abandoned. She had horrible separation anxiety. At the request of a dog behaviorist I videotaped her in her after I left the house. The tape was heartbreaking. She would cry, howl, whine, and basically try to dig her way out of the kennel. It went on for hou...
