Re: Skin tag?

Well, I ended up taking Annie to the vet yesterday. I got home from work and the spot was bleeding so I decided to go ahead and take her in just to be safe. I hate taking her to the vet as it stresses her out so badly, but I wasn't about to take any chances once I'd found it bleeding! The vet said i...

Skin tag?

Hi all! Does anyone have experience with skin tags or other growths on dogs? Annie has a small growth on her right shoulder and I am wondering if it could be a skin tag or something similar. It's about the size of a small tick (in fact that's what I thought it was at first), and sort of just hangs t...

Re: How do I to stop puppy from 'faking' to go out?

Annie does this too, but for a different reason. We have a gate set up at the bottom of our stairs to keep Annie downstairs unless we're upstairs with her. The cats then stay upstairs, often teasing Annie from the other side of the gate. It didn't take long before Annie figured out that if we let he...

Re: GRRRRR rant- stupid people

In my experience, things can go one of two ways when a dog is relentlessly chasing horses: either the dog gets hurt, or the horse does. I once knew a filly that had her ears chewed off by a pack of neighborhood dogs. I've also seen dogs stomped to death by the horse it was chasing. It's a terrible s...

Re: Vacuums and rug cleaners

I purchased the Bissel Pet Hair Eraser over the holidays and I absolutely LOVE IT! Keeping our floors clean is a constant battle, and this vacuum as made the job much easier. Now, whether or not it holds up in the long run we'll just have to see, but for now I couldn't be happier. Plus, I got it on ...

Re: Head collars for reactive/aggressive dogs

Thanks for the input, Horace's Mum :) Unfortunately fitting a crate in my car isn't an option at the moment (I drive a teeny little Celica), otherwise this is something I would've done right from the beginning. We are looking into purchasing an SUV, but until then I guess I'll look into a better har...

Re: Head collars for reactive/aggressive dogs

Thanks, Mattie! I had not thought of that. Is this the sort of harness you're talking about? http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2755199&lmdn=Dog#prodTab1 This one's designed specifically for car rides, but doesn't say anything about having been tested. I know this is probably a ...

Re: Head collars for reactive/aggressive dogs

Since we're on the subject, maybe somebody here can help me with a problem I'm having. We have a seat belt attachment for car rides that I really would like to use, but it doesn't work with the Easywalk harness as it only has a clip in the front. Currently, the only way I can hook Annie up to her se...

Re: Snow!

Thanks :) I was actually surprised that Annie wasn't more interested in playing in the snow. She kind of looked at it, sniffed around, ate a little bit (coughed it back up) then looked at me like "okay, can we go back inside now?" She does, however, LOVE splashing through rain puddles at t...

Re: Can dogs eat these?

My hubby bought one of those for Annie awhile back. It wasn't long before I took it up and threw it away, though...way too many pieces! We tend to stick to elk antlers and marrow bones.

Snow!

Once every ten years or so, the stuff actually sticks around here! http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs213.snc3/22062_1139419401922_1120500081_30533436_4192807_n.jpg Annie taking it all in last night as snow was beginning to fall. http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs293.ash1/22062_11395146043...

Re: Victoria vs Ceaser

I may not post very often but I'm here every day reading away :) That clip with the Shepherd and cat made cry and I had to turn it off. Like many others on this board, I was originally instructed to use punishment (in the form of a prong collar) with my German Shepherd, Annie, for barking at other d...

Never heard of it, but I did a quick search at www.dogfoodanalysis.com . Not sure what formula you're looking at, but here's a link to their review of their adult life formula: http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food ... 19&cat=all. Hope this helps.

Most feed stores I know of carry a decent selection of dog food. Petco also has a natural foods section. Also check around to see if there are any boutiques that may carry any of the brands listed above. Personally, I buy Annie's food from a boutique simply because I like to support small businesses...
