Too old?

I've got some mainly well behaved dogs. Shadow and Kitty, a few already heard about their slight disobedience. I've been working eith Kitty, and how quickly she responds is unimaginable! But, are my dogs too old and well behaved for their crates anymore? Shadow enjoys sinking her teeth into whatever...

We found her seemingly abused and abandoned on our property on Chritsmas last year. I think it probably is from stress. But, I don't know how to handle it yet. She doesn't have an extreme case of hip dysplalysia, but it's bad enough to become a problem in every day life.

I, myself, perfer to use specfied dog treats, like Beggin Strips. I don't think it's a good idea to let dogs know that "it's okay to eat table scraps!" Because, our dogs are a bit large to handle if they get into their minds that they want our food.

Thanks guys! But, I have to present you with another problem! Kitty, my Malnois, hates water! And on top of that, we aren't anywhere near any body of water big enough for my dogs!

Also, she is totally out of character. She isn't as hyper as the breed suggests. In fact the only time you ever hear her is when she wants attention. She has hip dyspalsia, so that might add to the effect of her calmness.

As for Kitty, she was found on our property, she was totally unexpected and had no owner. I couldn't leave her on the street! But, she has nipped us when she doesn't get her attention. I find that behavior extremely unnerving. Any ideas on that?

I myself have used the prong collars, but only because of the determanation and size of my dog. Obviously enough, little dogs shouldn't have prong collars.

I've heard of people who use timers or alarm clocks that tick to calm their dogs down. I've tried it, it works pretty well, but beware of the alarms! Also try to keep the dog with you and talk calmly, stroke its fur and just stay calm, your dogs draw from that.

Shadow and Kitty

We have a Belgian Sheperd Dog, Kitty, (Malnois) and she has-er-problems. She seems to have problems with excessive attention seeking. She has long claws and sort of claws you when she jumps on you. She growls if you ignore her, and one time I was afraid to even go into my house because of her. She p...
