Re: PLEASE help me stop excessive barking
It sounds like your dog has developed a sense of "if I bark, I eventually get my own way". You are not a failure in any way, just some dogs take more work than others do. And some dogs become very smart as to how to get their own way. I am so sorry you're having such a difficult time and h...

Re: Extremely fearful dog
Ah, poor little gem :( Having her own space is a good starting point for now, but when you go to interact with her be sure to approach slowly and don't do anything she might take as unexpected or threatening. You could try sitting near or in front of her space with dog food or treats, try to coax he...

Re: A Pom with a dislike for a lot!
I'll keep going with ignoring bad behavior, treating good.... Good/Bad have meanings that get in the way of training. It helps if you switch to thinking in terms of wanted and unwanted, and when you see something you want, "say" I want to see more of THAT behavior and put most of your eff...

Re: Dog bored of his food bowl
My dog often goes through phases where she won't eat very much, and I've found when that happens it is best to cut back on treats and if the food bowl isn't working, rotating certain toys filled with food can help too. You can try filling a kong with food, there's also a toy that is a ball with a sm...

Re: Cleaning Bum Fur
As ludicrous as it may sound, I've found non-scented baby wipes are really useful for when such mishaps happen! It helps to freshen up the long hairs in the nether regions Having a trim can help too.

A Pom with a dislike for a lot!
Hi there, my little lady, Liska is a 7 year old pomeranian. Throughout the years I've had her, she's been a pretty obedient dog to train and picks things up easily. However, when it comes to walks it's another matter. She is a very highly stung, nervous dog by nature. At first she literally barked a...
