positively no pull harness

With my kurgo harnesses, I can safely walk our dogs. But one is rubbing him behind his front legs and I'd like to try a new and improved positively no pull harness. But I can't see instructions on how to measure my dogs's chests. Does the measure tape go behind the neck like a necklace? Does it go b...

Re: Seeking advice. My once friendly dog became aggressive after being attacked

My goodness, that must have been awful for both you and your pup. Has the attacking dog been banned from the dog park? I am not a trainer. I am a cat person trying to learn about dogs. Does your dog have any dogs with which he is still comfortable? If so, perhaps he could be in the dog park with the...

Re: dog biting dog

My problem with my harnesses is that when they stand, the harness fits snuggly. But while walking, the front is looser because their body shape changes. But I won't go back to the strangling collar. In this case the loose dog was very friendly - too friendly as he walked right into the biter. I wait...

Re: dog biting dog

Grr. My friend had another dog, knowing the birth situation. The mama dog people wanted their dogs to be mean, to be guard dogs. Her dog was put down before two years old because he bit too many people. She had taken every advice she could to teach the dog manners. This dog was from the humane socie...

dog biting dog

My friend is walking with her dog on a leash. I have two on a leash. A loose dog is roaming the street and comes to us. I pull my dogs away to avoid contact (one of mine is always friendly, one is sometimes friendly). My friend's dog bites loose dog and won't let go, won't let go, won't let go. What...

Re: dog friends?

I do use a double leash. There are three parts - from my hand to the ring, then from the ring to each dog. They each have a harness and I clip to the front of the harness. This way they pull on each other some and less on my arm. I used to have R on the right and J on the left. D was also a right do...

Re: dog friends?

New friend is now on medication for a urinary tract infection. I'm hoping this will make her less reactive. If she was uncomfortable physically, then perhaps things bothered her more. We continue to walk near each other. Ha ha to total control on leash. I have two dogs - there is no steering mechani...

Re: dog friends?

Search found 5281 matches: "he only wants to play" Can you give me a link to find this topic? Ha ha, walking off leash. All are leashed for our city sidewalk tours. (They get off leash runs in state game lands, but it is archery season now.) Big brother can be a good buffer, but they all t...

dog friends?

RJ-Pup is two and came to us as a six month old stray. She is some sort of mix, I'm guessing boxer/lab. She had a best friend the same age and size with whom we walked often and played with at the dog park twice a week. They played tug, chase, wrestle, etc. Her friend is now gone and (hopefully) a n...

Re: housetraining and chewing

Rosie is a lab/terrier mix, (some say she's got pit in her), seven months. Duncan is a six year old chocolate lab. Jax is a seven year old licorice lab mix. Tigger and Puma are seven year old cats. I think they can keep out of reach. A typical day: Breakfast is at 8am. Then at 8:02, we go outside to...

housetraining and chewing

We recently took in a stray (discard - I hate people sometimes) who seems to be a seven month old lab/terrier mix. She gets along well with the full lab and the lab mix. We're working on her not chasing the cats. She does "go" outside, but will also go inside. I know to take her out when s...
