Re: Puppy still biting badly at 7 months

So my husband managed to tire Daisy out with some fetch yesterday, and by the time I got home, she was happy to see me, but not nearly so bitey. I took her out for a little walk, nothing crazy, just let her run around and smell things, and get a little offleash through the farmers field behind us. O...

Re: Puppy still biting badly at 7 months

I will let you know how the walking goes tonight. As for the food, there was no difference switching her from puppy food to adult food, and the puppy food was a completely different brand (Wellness puppy food), so I would say I don't think it's the food? The raw foods I checked out were also a lot m...

Re: Puppy still biting badly at 7 months

I will start with the lead when I get home from work today. My husband is home all day today, so I instructed him to make sure he plays with her and takes her outside for some more fetch to see if there is any difference in how she reacts to me when I get home. She is not nearly so crazy with him, j...

Re: Puppy still biting badly at 7 months

Ok let's see. Mornings she goes outside as soon as I get out, and I generally have to physically put her outside (hence picking her up) or she won't go out, and there will be an accident on the floor. She just gets so excited that I'm up and awake that she doesn't want to go outside until she's out ...

Puppy still biting badly at 7 months

First off, I know puppies bite. I know, it's natural, normal, healthy all that stuff. But this isn't normal healthy puppy biting. Ok, so Daisy is now 7 months old, with a full set of adult teeth on her. She is definitely some sort of corgi cross and she has pretty much reached her adult size. She st...

Re: Fearful Dog, Apologies, Questions!

I am definitely not the one to give you much advice, but my 6 year old male jack russell has a lot of fear issues. When it comes to people I find that he does best when he gets completely ignored, 100%. He warms up to strangers who do this so much faster than with the ones who talk to him or try to ...

Re: Puppy biting too hard when playing

I'll give it a try, thanks. She's a screamer though when she's unhappy, which I can't have at 6am when we live in a fourplex with neighbours. I've never had a dog that screamed quite like Daisy. She's special

Re: Puppy biting too hard when playing

Hope you don't mind if I hijack your post a little, but it seemed silly to make a whole new one to ask the same basic thing. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do when you can't leave the room every 2 seconds? Such as in the morning when I have a ton of things to do and no time to do it and my pu...

Re: Breed Ideas

She is indeed. I think she might be part shark at least, that's all she does these days.

Breed Ideas

This is just for fun, and she is still too little to know what she will look like as an adult, but this is our 3 month old pup Daisy, and we have been trying to guess what sort of mix she is. She was sold to use as a red heeler mix, but I met both of her parents and there is absolutely 0 chance eith...

Re: Desperate for help...fearful excessive puppy biting/nipping

All of my puppies have been like this to some extent. My first was the worst, I got him too young (didn't find out until later) and I have scars from his puppy bites still. Our current puppy does something similar to yours, it's like she goes into this hyperactive biting mode and it''s hard to get h...

Re: Dog owners who won't *own* their dogs

I hate that so much. My 2 older dogs are NOT FRIENDLY at all. With dogs or people, and I always have them on a leash for walks. I cringe as soon as I see an off leash dog anywhere near us, as they always seem to come running straight for us. It's so bad in some places that I couldn't even walk my do...

Resource guarding me

Ok where to start? I think my 6 year old jack russel mix is resource guarding me. It seems to be just me, as he has no issues when he’s with my husband and I am not around. Some background on Sampson; he will be 6 at the end of May, and I have had him since he was 6 weeks old unfortunately. I was to...
