Re: Suddenly scared dog
I will keep open minded and monitor him when we get back home. In my area is non behaviorist and i think in whole country is 1. Everything that he knows I've done it myself without expensive trainers and behaviorists.... I'm self-educating myself. So far I've been successful but in some areas I've f...

Re: Suddenly scared dog
Thanks for your replies. After your words JudyaN i started to think harder to find root of the problem. Fear came one week after my wife was out of work (at home) after surgery. Routine that we had was broken. Since we've brought him home he learned to be alone for 8 hours when my wife i me was at w...

Re: Suddenly scared dog
Hy! I think that's it. :D Kali is still a little scared when he smells something "dangerous" but does not react on sounds anymore. I'm so glad and relieved that this fear did not take long to go away. Me and my wife (and dog) are going on vacation at the end of the month and everything wil...

Re: Suddenly scared dog
Dogs are also sensitive to pressure changes, have then been storms in your area? I know sometimes one of my guys seems to hide for no reason which seems to be related to heat lightning and really distant thunder claps. For last 2 weeks there hasn't been storms or bad weather. And fears came on frid...

Re: Suddenly scared dog
last few days was very hot in my area. I know for the rule of "five seconds" - it wasn't that hot. Beside that, we were going on walks early in the morning and late afternoon. I've consider that this fear might be because of heat... I will do my best to help him get over his fears... Yeste...

Suddenly scared dog
Hello. Few days ago I went with my dog on a walk at familiar place. Place where we go now and then (it is not our daily routine). As soon as we got there he was excited and wanted to run and play because he knew that in this place is always fun... Then suddenly he stoped and underline tail between h...

He wants to play with me all the time inside like he doesn't know how to play alone. 2. His favourite game is thug-of-war but he gets super exc...

Re: Unresponsive! Advice needed.
I'm confused about training duration outside. Normaly we are on walk about 1 hour. I know that 10-15 minutes is max for training so that dog doesn't get bored but what to do after that time? Should I let him sniff (he mostly do that) and that never ends. So I have to give him cue to go futher and it...

Re: Unresponsive! Advice needed.
Thanks for reply. Yes, i would love to have some books. Since I'm deep into dog training few more books won't hurt me :D I have long line but clearly I do not know how to properly use it. And yes, you got it right, recall is what I need to re-teach. Sometimes I feel like I'll never be able to put hi...

He runs away from me, eating bunch of crap, jumping in mud, getting in water, then on dusty field, then again in water, then roll himself in crap, then ea...
