I agree that learning to go potty outside should be your initial introduction of your new puppy to your home. Be sure to stay out there with your dog. Since you can't give up going anywhere the best thing would be to try to make the dogs time alone as happy as possible. Welcome to the forum. I have a lab mix who lives to fetch. In fact, I am playing fetch while I post this reply. Good luck with the training. It is a learning process for both dog and owner.
