Re: rescue husky and current dog
Thanks all. Well they are drinking out the same bowl, she is recovering well and they walk nicely on the lead together, she does come up and sniff his nose and he does still pester her! We do have snaps/growls if she is lying down and resting and he comes near her, I am guessing this is normal? she ...

Re: rescue husky and current dog
Thanks :) I recently read this http://leerburg.com/pdf/introducingdogs.pdf http://leerburg.com/pdf/introducingdogs.pdf and panicked as they are arctic breeds they wouldnt tolerate all that crating and lack of affection. The only time she is gretting snappy or growly, is when he has pestered her and ...

rescue husky and current dog
We recently got a new addition. We rescued a 4 yr old husky. She is new to the house, she has met our 8 mth old samoyed twice before we got her and we collected her straight from desex surgery. She is overweight and kept escaping ( she was a neighbours) but was undesexed (we just had her desexed) an...

Re: Hormones?

No, never done clicker training, only food. interested though :) There's a really nice video somewhere of someone teaching a dog to enjoy being groomed, but I just can't find it, sorry! I'm sure it won't have any ...

Re: Hormones?
He starts to fidget during the grooming, leaning into me, trying to get of the table or away from me on the floor, he movces around and gets more an dmore naxious. the trouble is if we stop before this happens we will never groom him at all, as it starts immediately as soon as you groom and ALWAYS h...

Re: Hormones?
Thanks, breeder came today and gave him a small brush. She is going to ask around for tips as he seems to be pretty anxious over grooming. I am too hard on myself, she says his coat is very good and well kept, the ONLY thickness and minor tangling is the bum and a little clumping under the belly :) ...

Re: Hormones?
oh cool I had read a report not so long ago where people were using horse products and gave it terrible reviews as it was for horses not dogs and caused issues with the coats?
You say not to keep it on his coat but he only gets bathed once every month to 6 weeks, will it still be OK to use?
