Re: Preventing Chewing

We are still working on the crate for sure! He sleeps in it at night and does well as long as my husband and I are around or another dog is in the room. The main stress and problems come when he is left alone in the crate in the house he just goes nuts! When he needs to be kenneled over night we wil...

Re: Preventing Chewing

crate your dog when you can't watch him closely. when you go to work crate your dog and find someone to come to give him a break, snack, let him out, etc. I appreciate that you feel carting is the best option but for MY personal situation it is not ideal and does NOT work well for my dog! I work a ...

Re: Preventing Chewing

I want to Thank you all again for your advice! We have been working, a few hours(or less) at a time, on leaving Moses alone and he has been doing really well! I got a few mentally stimulating toys for him that have helped a lot! We have been changing up our exercise routine regularly and making sure...

Re: Dog refuses to move at bedtime

I am no expert so my advice is just thoughts.... I started to notice my puppy starting to do similar things in the last few weeks so I made a conscious effort to change my routine every night. Us humans tend to be creatures of habit and perform rituals and dogs pick up on those things so you have to...

Re: Preventing Chewing

I got the spray suggested and sprayed it on the cords he has a tendency to 'hide' his bone by and he has stopped going back there almost totally. I have gotten it pretty well blocked off as well, our house is pretty well baby proofed because we have 10 month old nephew that comes over frequently so ...

Re: Help with the newest development...

Thanks! We always go for walks early in the morning before it warms up and in the evening after the sun goes down when it cools off. I live in Denver, Colorado so it is usually in 12-15 degrees Celsius range when we walk. This morning I had to be at work early so we went walking at 450 am and he did...

http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u54/tiffyl52/IMG_0240.jpg Not sure why it is gigantic but this Moses. He looks mostly Lab but his tail curls and he has whiskers around his snout as well as a white spot under his chin so it looks as though he has a beard! The vet thinks there may be another breed...

Preventing Chewing

My 4 month old pup currently is not really much of a chewer thankfully! Every now and then he will attempt to chew just the laces of our running sneakers but as soon as you look at him and tell him no he stops. The one other thing he will try to chew on is charger cords every now and again but has n...

Re: 4 Month old puppy in a new home...

Thank you so much for your very informative and helpful response!! I was apprehensive to post about it anywhere after seeing some very mean judgmental statements made on other forums but I am glad I did and now have a good building block to go from! I will work on all of those things with him this w...
