Re: The monsters at the bottom of the garden

JudyN, Well, I guess this proves that Jasper really has had something to fear on the garden. Mystery solved. It’s not a figment if his imagination! :D This is a good lesson for all of us. Trust that our dogs have a real sense of something that we cannot see, hear, or smell. And, trust when they let ...

Re: It's quiet in here !

JudyN, I think this is outrageous how they take something that do many people use and hijack for their own use. The swastika used to be a a very popular quilt pattern in the 1800s with a meaning like long life and similar to windmills. But, once the Nazis appropriated it, so much for that. Occasiona...

Re: It's quiet in here !

PS: DianeLDL, please be careful when using multiple parentheses... I'm sorry, but it seems like online far-right groups have begun using these to designate people as being Jewish and thus bad and not to be trusted. What are they NOT going to spoil for normal people? I'm not sure what you mean! I've...

Re: It's quiet in here !

Hi Emmabeth, This definitely is the best forum for these topics. People know they are getting sound and safe advice. People and I trust VS. who knows what type of stuff is going around in Facebook! I will NOT go on Facebook. Without this forum, I would have been lost as to understandi...

Re: It's quiet in here !

Is this why I had to log in again? Or is it that I haven't posted in a while? I've had a crazy 4 months. 1-mom went into hospice & I flew from Maine to San Francisco Bay Area to see her. 2-next week, my mom died 3-next week, flew back for my mom's funeral 4-end of July drove back to Albuquerque....

Re: Should I change to harness?

Nettle, Just for info, very hard-pulling dogs get to a stage where they are releasing endorphins, so are in a state of euphoria rather than pain. I had not thought of that. No wonder he is excited also when he sees dogs, cats, ducks, horses, etc. on TV. He is getting his endorphins going. :P...

Re: Should I change to harness?

Sandy pulls and Chile’s himself trying to get st another dog, cat, squirrel, etc. We have tried harnesses of various types, and he hates them. He just stands there and shakes trying to get rid of it, that’s if he let’s us put it on him. He has growled at me. He doesn’t even like a sweater or jacket....

Re: Could you do it?

JudyN, My friend in Albuquerque is on her second pair of big dogs since I met her 9 years ago. She has buried 6 big dogs, as far as I know. Now, she has a St. Bernard & another large dog, but I forget the breed. We knew a man in Maine who had cancer. He had a small dog like a bishon. His biggest...

Re: Some bad news

Lotsaquestions, First of all, I’m so sorry about your life situation. I’ve been through 2 divorces including one custody case, and I lost custody of my only SON, a human. So, it’s great that it’s been decided you get Merlin. That’s the major part of it. And, I’m glad your parents are being so suppor...

Re: Constantly stealing objects and eating them!

JudyN, Made some very good suggestions. Our dog also used to get tissues & stuff like that. Be careful since they can clog the intestines. When I was a teen, our dog would get into the waste baskets & eat tissues. Also, he would eat sticks. Took him to the vet who pulled a stick out of his r...
