Re: Episode 205 - Killer Intincts - Jan 30

Thanks Victoria and Maximoo,
Maybe the babygate with small doggie door would work, otherwise I might have to figure out how to make a cover for the potty.

Re: Episode 205 - Killer Intincts - Jan 30

Hi Victoria, I love your show and have learned so many good techniques from watching. Not trying to hijack the thread, I just have a question about the puppy potty used in the House of Horrors episode. I was considering trying one of these for my 4lb toy poodle- he is prone to kidney infections and ...

They are available on ebay search for dog car seat. I saw the custom ones that were selling on ebay for $75-$100 and made one. http://cgi.ebay.com/THE-ZOE-DOG-CARSEAT-MAKES-TRAVELING-FUN-4-EVERY-ONE_W0QQitemZ300263214120 It is a basket with a frame made of pvc and fabric covered. News report this morning- Horse versus car collisions are on the rise. People cann't afford to feed their horses and the rescues are full, so now people have taken to releasing their horses in "rural" areas. Not like there is any grass available, we already have our "perma-snow" ...

Boo, my 4lb toy poodle wears a winter coat and is getting boots for Christmas. I finally found ones that are small enough, if he stands on a quarter you can see the edges of the quarter all the way around. This week we have had temps well below 0F with windchills around -30. His poor little feet fre...

I am not a fan of PETA. They tend to act without thinking about the consequences. Several years ago, a group of PETA activists broke into one of the University of WI research labs. They freed dozens of mink without knowing anything about what diseases the animals may have carried. They had no plans ...

You have gotten some very good advice here. You clearly love your furbabies, I would suggest that you focus your attention on them especially the clingy one. Trick training or an indoor agility course could help make him a more confident boy. I know that a puppy sounds like a lot of fun, but they ar...

That sounds like a fun first outing! If they were mine at first day or two I would be sure each group has a bold pup to act as the trailblazer for its siblings. Then each day, we went I would mix the groups up- my thinking here is that the pups all have their own personalities and interact different...

I did hear that the Meals-on Wheels program in Madison,WI is working with some of the pet warehouse chains to provide Kibble-on-Wheels. For those of you not familar with Meals-on-Wheels, they are a organization that delivers a hot meal to shut-in senior citizens or disabled individuals. The delivery...

We are seeing that around here as well. Especially around the end of each month, the shelters seem to be getting alot more surrenders and finding abandon animals tied to the front doors. People abandon their "beloved" family pet in the middle of the night so they won't have to pay a surren...

Have you considered setting up an indoor agility course? That's what we do here in the winter when the snow is too deep for Boo (4lb toy poodle) and its well below freezing. We actually have to set up 2 courses- Boo's in the living room and Gunther's (German Shepherd) in the basement. You can make t...

Does Santa Paws come to your house?

How much do you spend on holiday presents for your furry family members? What will Santa be bringing? I usually spend around $30 each. This year it may be a little more. My girls (2 kitties) are getting an automatic litter box. Boo and Gunther are just getting their stockings. Boo stocking will have...

Beef bones

I just picked up half a beef and I had asked the butcher to save back a couple of bones for the pups. My boys think Christmas came early- the butcher gave me a huge box of bones that must weigh at least 60 lbs. I want them to be able to enjoy this stash of treats, but I keep seeing conflicti...

We like to teach our dogs to bring specific items. If your dog knows "bring it" just start naming the items. Before our border collie went blind, he would bring any toy we asked for by name, he also would bring the remote, a blanket, and a pillow. This is really handy and impresses people....
