Re: Best Shampoo for dry skin

I'm using OatCoat, and so far this is best shampoo for my dog. I love her hair now, and the fact that it doesn't dry my dog skin even if I bathe her 3 to 4 times a week (if needed, but normally twice a week).

Re: shaving or just trimming

just for the future, the shaving really didn't accomplish anything other than making your lab look kinda funny for awhile. fleas bite despite the hair, or length of hair. you need to treat the dog and the environment (there are many methods, some chemical, some more natural) but shaving doesn't do ...

Re: Flea bites on dog...

When my dog had flea bites it was really bad. She got it all over her body, no matter how we treat it, it keeps coming back. We tried to trace the source, and found out that dogs outside our apartment got fleas. We decided to move and find a new place, and tried to treat my dog. After 2 weeks her fl...

Re: shaving or just trimming

I shaved my dog twice when she got fleas. She looks terrible, but after a month or so it gets back to it's original look or even better :-)
But if he doesn't have fleas I won't consider shaving.

Re: How and when to clip nails?

I trim my dogs nail on my own. She's scared whenever the clipper touch her nails, so it takes a lot of time and energy from me to make her still.
But after I finish trimming, it's worth it :-) . I do it, i think twice a month.

Re: Dog food, treats and raw food questions???

Before I fed my dog dry dog food, then I tried raw food and she got no issues with it. Now she's healthy, smart and active dog. She also loves treat, but before she takes it she will sniff it first and see if she likes it :-)

Re: Concerns over feeding bones

I got the same concern, I'm scared to feed my dog with bones because one of my dog died after feeding him chicken bones and vomit. Since then I only give Near (my german spits) dental bone and some bone from vet which is safe.

Re: Crating when visitors come over?

i had a dog that I need to crate because he keeps running around whenever I have a visitor. Later on, I noticed he was slowly getting aggressive. Someone told me that letting my dog roam around and suddenly crate him might affect his behavior.
