Re: dog spaying

Look I didn't know that posting MY opinion would cause you guys to attack lol U guys can't say I'm wrong about un-spayed dogs are at risk of pyometra, endometriosis, and other uterine infections. If they have female parts then it could happen. And it does lower the chance of breast cancer. Sorry if ...

Re: dog spaying

I figured you guys would say something about that lol Trust me that's went through my mind over and over again. It's killing me because that was one reason I got a male. Plus I like male dogs better for some reason. He just turned 7 months so I have time to think about things. To be honest he probab...

Re: dog spaying

We could go back and forth on this subject all day long. There is good and bad in everything. People can say hey look at the benefits of this but it can cause this. You can find the good things and the bad things in altering your pet. Sometimes you can't win for losing. Lol there is a risk in anyway...

Stripping my cairn terriers

I'm needing to strip my cairns and I've never done it before. I've always groomed my cocker but that was easy. Any tips on hand stripping? The best tools for a beginner? Videos that explain it better? Any info would be great. I've been reading a lot and watching some videos but still not grasping it...

Re: dog spaying

I looked over it and didn't see what age they were considering early? I may have just looked over it. I'm alittle crazy at times lol ...

Re: dog spaying

Lol Well vets and techs do stay up to date. They don't just go through school and that's the end of their education. There are many magazines and things every month with updated information in them and plus they have to have many hours each year of continuing education. It's not scare tactics it's f...

Re: dog spaying

I never wanted to get an argument started. And I do have common sense and a bachelors degree in veterinary science. I've worked for 10 years under a handful of Vets. Plus I've worked a little while at the University of Tennessee veterinary hospital. Everyday I deal with clients who don't want to hav...

Re: dog spaying

It's a good idea to get your dog spayed before her first heat cycle. The 1st cycle is normally between the ages of 6-10 months of age. If a female dog is spayed before her first heat, she has almost no chance of developing breast cancer. Not only for that reason but un-spayed dogs are at risk of pyo...

Don't want to learn new tricks

Ok I'm having a problem and need advice. I've trained my cocker spaniel who is now 14 years old to do tricks with no problems. I also had a bloodhound that was a trained search and rescue dog. So here's my problem I have two 7 month old cairn terrier puppies. The male has learned set, lay, shake, pl...

Re: Peeing frenzy

I'm a vet tech and me and my boss don't think that's the problem. He goes to work with me 2-3 times a week. His pee has never looked abnormal or smelled funny. He has done this ever since he was 6 weeks old and he is 5 months now. Thanks for the advice tho because in some cases that could be the pro...

Re: Hello I'm Jen and I have 2 cairn terrier puppies

Thanks for the advice. I work as a vet tech so I get to take them to work with me a lot. It gets them used to other animals and people. I have been taking them one at a time some. My little male loves to go but hates it when I take her and he is left at home lol he pouts in his kennel. Lol
