Re: Feeding/nausea and bathing???

I've been giving her dry food. I ran out of dry food, now I'm feeding her mighty dog food for small dogs. Comes in a blue tin with a pull top. She seems eat one can a day, and that's what's she's wolfing down. She's got really, really bad dander and specks of dandruff coming off her. What kind of br...

So....Kiki has been experience some nausea first thing in the morning. She'll sound like she's gonna throw up or actually throw up. Never too much. Mainly after she eats a few bites of her food way to fast. She gets so dang excited when I put her bowl of food down she can't eat it fast enough. Any i...

Re: Pet insurance?

Went to pay my renters insurance and car insurance yesterday (same company) and asked them if they did any type of pet insurance. They said they didn't. I'll keep looking. I've got to find something soon. While I am putting up an extra $50 a month and cutting back in other areas for Kiki, she's pron...

Re: barking and lunging at a neighbors dog

I just call all pit bull type breeds pittys. I like the idea of driving her a little way. There's a park on a dead end street about a block from us. From the looks of it, it's a very little used park, though it does have play ground equipment, an open field and a walking path. I was hoping to be abl...

Re: barking and lunging at a neighbors dog

It's not always possible to not walk that way, because as soon as we start heading back into the garage, one or both will see each other at about the same time and she'll want to take me that way to bark. At one point she tried to pull herself out of her collar to get to this dog. i'm confused here...

Re: barking and lunging at a neighbors dog

thanks, I'll look into that. I tried a nylon harness with her, a blue one, that was a snug fit. When I would go put it on her, she would cower with a frighted look in her eyes. WHere can I find one of those collars? Would walmart carry them?

Re: barking and lunging at a neighbors dog

Our yard is not fenced in. Our landlord won't put up a fence, though we can ourselves. We're working on coming up with the money to do so. I'm not sure if it is a pit bull, or a pitty. I love pittys. But anyway, it looks like one. I'm not blaming the neighbors dog, he's just reacting to someone/some...

barking and lunging at a neighbors dog

So one house over, on the left of us, has a fenced yard. They have a large pit bull type dog. The dog seems nice. On warm, nice days, like today, the occupants of the house let the dog out in the yard almost all day. When I take Kiki out, and the dog sees her and starts barking, or she sees him, she...

Pet insurance?

So the last 2 weeks I've been looking into getting pet insurance for Kiki. I am so lost and confused by the choices. Heck, I have a hard enough time understanding human insurance, and insurance for kiki is even..wow!! Where do I begin, what coverage should I get, what are some of the better plans?

Re: How and when to clip nails?

She goes in to the vet to be fixed on the 7th (Monday) should I just have the vet do it while she's there the first time so I know how short they are supposed to be and such, and then next time around she'll be more used to me so I can try cutting em myself?

How and when to clip nails?

How often do I clip my dogs nails? I ordered the Safari Professional Nail Trimmer http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002RJM8C/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 for small/medium dogs from amazon.com today. It's supposed to arrive on Friday. I've never cut her nails before. I do have someone to help me. Sinc...

Re: My Disabled Husband Needs Help

She is heavily food motivated. I've tried one of those high pitched dog whistles on her. She ignores it. I've tried a clicker on her. It got to be where it scared her so bad she'd run off with a scared look in her eyes whimpering. So, I no longer use it. Toys? The ones that squeak scare her. The one...

My Disabled Husband Needs Help

My husband is disabled and needs to use a power chair to move about the house. He's tried to talk quietly to our dog while in the chair, but all she does is bark at him. He's also tried to stop moving when she starts to bark. But when he can barely put his hand on the joystick to move again, she sta...
