Re: disgusted!!!

You know it baffles me that so many people think it better to keep a dog alive who is potentially suffering or is a danger to himself and the people around them than to euthanize. The truth is, there are far worse fates than death. A major problem no kill shelters deal with are dogs who are unadopta...

Re: latest episode,..daycare

I have heard about and seen several dogs recently owned by dog professionals that were debarked. It's becoming more prevalent - like it or not.

Re: Interesting Discussion re: choke chains

I know a few folks who use choke collars on their dogs, not to deter pulling forward, but to prevent their dogs from backing out of their collars like some can with a flat collar. When appropriate for me to say something, I recommend to them a martingale collar over a choke collar for this purpose....

Re: Stripping vs Clipping

I agree with the 2nd groomer. If you are willing to keep up with the stripping, over the long run, it will be much better for your dog. Since she is still a pup, her coat may still be changing anyway.

Why do people STILL watch Milan?

I just don't get it. You would think that his being bitten on EVERY show would be demonstration enough of what a bad dog trainer he is! Why is it that people still preach his gospel?

Re: Interesting Discussion re: choke chains

Hi all, Not sure how many of you are on facebook but currently there's a lively debate going between myself and someone else regarding the use of choke chains in loose-lead walking. If you go to the "Dog Food Advisor" page you can check it out (and contribute) if you'd like. I'm sure you'll be able...

Re: Crumple Zones and Car Safety: Keeping dogs safe in the car..

That is why I don't like my dogs travelling in the boot of my car and is why once Bonnie has the collar off I will have 3 on the back seat and one in the front passenger seat, all with harnesses on clipped to the seatbelts of course. There are some REALLY scary videos on the internet showing how do...

Re: Crumple Zones and Car Safety: Keeping dogs safe in the car..

Do you know that there's now a special dog crate on the market that is designed to work with car cumble zones? It's called the Mim Variocage and it is made in Sweden. I know it's available in Europe and it just became available in the United States. If you google it - you'll find a lot of info on it...

Re: Help I can't groom my dog

Hi there! I'm a professional groomer (and a yorkie lover - can you tell)? The bigger question I have for you is: "how long are you going to have this pup?" If it's a long-term foster, then there's a lot you can do for him by desenstizing him to the grooming tools, getting him used to a towel, pickin...
