Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2
Hey Judy girl! Boy dog is 8 now............... sadly he's lost a good deal of hearing because of chronic ear infections but other than that, he's healthy as a horse and is in excellent shape. he's still a Frisbee nut and is intense as ever. Baby girl is 6 and we've got her on Xanax and Prozac. Poor ...

Well, I've got baby girl giving the evil eye to boy dog right now. she's a horrible resource guarder and sometimes she decides that boy dog is breathing too much of air that should, by rights, be hers. ..........I've had packs of dogs that get along beautifully. Then, you get one that isn't wired qu...

Sigh. I thought Jasper was getting better about having his ear drops in but he's regressed. Even letting him lick mayonnaise off the fridge door didn't stop him getting VERY nasty when OH lifted his ear. We ended up having to take him for another walk & wrap his lead round a tree, then I slippe...

Oh nettle, had the same thing happen to me while having coffee the other day. Little snarking dog 'wanted to say hi' to two borzoi that were laying under our feet. One grab with that back breaking shake would have been all it would have taken. ..........sigh.

it's ALWAYS an option until you've collected and paid for them. I also strongly suggest that you not get two at the same time. I think you'll really regret this decision

Re: I'm growing to hate walking my dogs
I think you'd find it much easier to counter condition their responses if you were to only walk one dog at a time. it's very difficult to work on training and to perfect your timing when you've got the two together. Also, they tend to feed off of each others reactivity. I know it's more work but in ...

Just got back from a short 3 mile canyon walk. it's just too hot for the dogs to push any further. Temps in the high 80's and humidity is ~60 percent. Then it was about an hour of removing debris from their coats. <sigh>

Obviously I have no right to weigh in with an opinion on the 'stay/leave topic, but congrats to all of you for being able to vote on such an important issue. I realize that political discussions have no place on such a forum but the idea that you are able to vote your opinion is special. Not all cou...

Re: Can two females live together?
It's MUCH harder with two females - can be done but very very big commitment needed by the whole family, plus space where you can keep them apart if necessary especially when you go out. I think it's also somewhat breed dependent. I had many combo's of setter girls as did friends. Other than the ve...

Sigh. I feel your pain. And today I read an article titled, 'a sea change in gun dog training techniques'. it's in the most recent canine chronicle. While i'm thrilled that the article is about a more positive approach to gun dog and retriever training (an area of dog training that has been slow to...
