Dots now joined - staph

You'll probably have seen a few posts from me about puppy vaginitis and also about loss of appetite. well, after a number of trips to the vets, 2 ineffective courses of antibiotics and swab tests it turns out that Rogue (20 week old female lab) has not got vaginitis afterall...she has a staphylococc...

Re: Do puppies lose their appetite when teething?

She is eating more today :)

We are thinking it is the teething that is putting her off food as she cut a big one the day after I posted. She is being good with the chewing though - sticking to what she knows is hers.

Do puppies lose their appetite when teething?

My puppy is currently teething. At first she was struggling with kibble, so we have introduced wet food and she has been enjoying it. Over the past few days she has hardly eaten. She does pick at her food a bit but has nowhere near the appetite she has had. She is still very active and doesn't seem ...

What age do puppies teeth?

Hi, My lab is now 17 weeks old and I think she may have started teething. She broke one tooth a good few months back when playing but I've noticed that she has lost another tooth this weekend. Is this likely to be due to teething or has she had another mishap? I have also noticed that she is relucta...

Re: Puppy vaginitis

Thanks for that. I feel a bit better :)

Daft question but when you say downwards do you mean towards the tail or down towards floor away from the body?

Puppy vaginitis

Hi, I have just had Rogue (15 week Labrador) at the vets as she has some problems with her 'downstairs' area. The vet says that she has vaginitis and that it is 'fairly common in female puppies'. He also said that one course of antibiotics may not clear it and that it could be an ongoing issue until...

Re: Wrestling

My 15 week old Labrador (Rogue) wrestles with my Mum's 5 year old Ridgeback cross German Shepherd (Ripley) all the time and they love it. When they are done they happily share water and then sleep. They also love playing tug of war and chase. I would say a good way to see if it is just a game is to ...

Re: New Puppy

Im sorry but I really dont think the sleeping in our bedroom idea will work for us and maybe some of you will think I am a bad person for this but its just how we feel. The crate in the bedroom doesn't necessarily need to be permanent. We put our puppy, Rogue, in her crate in our bedroom for the fi...

Re: Puppy seems bored of her food

I feed her 'Advanced Nutrition Large Breed Puppy' kibble.

I will try your ideas and see what happens (especially the tuna!). I may need to change her food to something more interesting if those mixers don't work. I do feel bad for her...I wouldn't like to have to eat that every meal.

Thanks

Puppy seems bored of her food

My 13 week old Labrador seems to have decided that she is bored of her food the last few days. She definitely isn't ill as she hasn't gone off her reward treats when training and isn't lethargic or anything. she does eventually eat the food but picks at it and is no longer all excited about it when ...

Re: Doggy not getting it

My puppy used to sit when on the lead too. I did the sit down and wait thing and it did work. At first I felt like it wasn't working at all; it almost felt like a battle of the wills at one point...although I don't know whether that was just my interpretation as Rogue seemed quite happy to sit and w...

Re: Field vs show Labrador

Ahhh Rogue's Mum had a very square 'blocky' head. She was also very stocky but as you say that is different to overweight. I didn't see her Dad but I do have his papers. Time will tell I suppose! In the meantime here are some pictures.... if I have managed to use photobucket right! http://i1053.phot...
