My dog is holding it until we go out!

Hatchi is now 9 months and he's been really good with regards to toilet accidents in the house etc... He has started to hold it now until we go out, but yesterday and today he's had accidents. Yesterday about 20 minutes before he was due out for his last walk he peed on the sofa in the kitchen, neit...

Re: Ideas - boyfriend training?

of course. both his peoples are out with him, that is EXTRA cool and exciting  The solution, which I am sure you know, is to get out and walk him together more often so it's not so unique and novel. Thanks... I do try and get him to come out more, but Hatchi is my dog and I can't force my boy...

Re: Ideas - boyfriend training?

I have this problem, times it by 10 though, I have a French boyfriend who can't communicate in English very well... arggghhh! I think he probably managed to ruin my crate training last night by going to get the dog every time he barked or howled, I gave up in the end and the dog ended up on the bed ...

Re: Crate Question

I have shut the door when I've been at home, when we have been eating in the kitchen at lunchtime and he's fine... no barking or whining. But I have been so busy with work the last few weeks I haven't been able to do it as much, the training side of things. I guess I need to start from scratch again...

Crate Question

I've had a crate for Hatchi for about 6 weeks now, and he goes in and out of it quite happily during the day and sometimes goes and rests in there in the evening. The problem is eventually I want to be able to leave him in there when I go out for a couple of hours, but whenever I tempt him into the ...

Flea bites on dog...

We went to view a house yesterday and as my partner was walking ahead of me he started scratching his leg and realised there were fleas jumping around everywhere. The house belongs to a member of his family, and she didn't warn us, in fact she suggested being careful in the garden for ticks... The d...

Thanks, I have used Zooplus before, but will have another look, didn't realise they delivered to France so that's great! :)

Re: House Trained to Not House Trained?!

He is a Breton Spaniel, I don't think he's a mix as far as I know. The garden is secure, in fact the walls are pretty high which he seemed to be intimidated by at first but he seems ok now, it's very quiet apart from the odd dog barking in the distance and low level traffic noise. This morning he we...

Re: House Trained to Not House Trained?!

I have cancelled the neutering for tomorrow, after reading some of the other posts on here... quick question, when is a dog fully mature in mind and body?

Re: House Trained to Not House Trained?!

Thanks for all the advice... I'm really stuck now about the neutering!! :| Here are my reasons... I live in France, pretty much all dogs are intact (the French don't see dogs in the same way as in the UK or the US), so yes it will be difficult to keep him away from intact bitches no doubt. Also my b...

Re: House Trained to Not House Trained?!

I will speak to the vet to make him aware there might be a problem before the neutering on Friday. Nothing has changed, apart from him getting more and more naughty, especially when he's wet... he had been in the river last night briefly which for some reason makes him very excited. Interesting you ...

House Trained to Not House Trained?!

My puppy is (or was) house trained pretty much when we got him at 5 months (he's now just over 6 months), but the last 2 days he has urinated in various places around the apartment. Last night on his walk (last of the day - about 9pm) he came straight in and jumped on the bed and urinated (usually w...

Re: My Puppy Stinks!

Thanks for the suggestions... I would love to do raw feeding but I just don't have the time right now as I run my own business. But I will definitely order one of the foods you mention. :D
