Best European streetdog rescue to the UK ?
I help people find missing dogs in the UK, many of which are negligenty prepared and rehomed foreign streetdogs, so I see the dark side.
Are there any rescues that are strong behaviourally - helping the dogs cope with the travel and being rehomed in a domestic environment ?

Forum bug - Invisible private message/s
The forum always says that I have 1 unread Private message, yet when I look there are none visible, and 2 invisible saved. Export generates nothing.
I can live with it, but if an admin could easily fix it that would be nice. The messages are probably so old now that I don't mind if they're deleted.

Dog walker/carer recomendations London SW6 ?
A client of mine has just moved away to the city and I thought it would be nice to put her in touch with a behaviourally aware dog carer for walks and visits. She has a pug and an ex Dogs Trust yorkie with dog anxiety (freezes then sinks to the floor sometimes when unknown dogs approach). Any sugges...

Behaviourist recommendations - Wiltshire, UK ?
I'm a dog walker and one of my client's dogs is anxious around other dogs and the client would like some assistance. They're near Devizes in central Wiltshire. I've walked and fostered rescue dogs for 7 years and have too much respect for science based behaviourism to get too drawn in, as I have 'a ...

Behaviourist degree qualifications - relevance ?
I know of a number of people who, having completed an animal behaviour and welfare degree, consider themselves qualified dog behaviourists. I know anyone can call themselves a behaviourist, so it's perhaps a moot point, but I'm interested to know peoples opinions. Does this make people qualified dog...

Newly rescued dogs going missing
When I'm out and about, I keep my eyes open for lost dogs in the area and have become concerned by a recent upsurge in newly rescued dogs going missing. This year, of the 10 dogs that have gone missing, 4 were recent rescues, 3 of which came from outside the UK (Cyprus, Spain Romania) one of those w...

Re: Longsightedness (poor shortrange vision)
She's got a APBC behaviourist involved now, so hopefully they'll work it out, thanks for your reply.

Longsightedness (poor shortrange vision)
A friends lurcher sometimes doesn't see wildlife within 10m when out walking and then is startled when it bolts. She's also attacked people other than her family inside the home when approached - it's not predictable. Could it be vision related ? Local vet says her vision is 'normal for sighthounds'...

Re: Sarah Whithead's courses - opinions ?
Thanks for your replies, I've signed up after sounding out one of the behaviourists at the rescue centre I volunteer at who had personal experience of her and who confirmed posters views.

Sarah Whithead's courses - opinions ?
I've got the opportunity to take a couple of her courses at half price and and wondered what people thought of her and if there are any red flags. I don't know much about her, but the offer seems tempting. I've read several behavioural books but really need to see body language in real time which is...

Re: Lunging at vehicles
Many thanks for the comprehensive reply OnceInAWeil :D You've answered many questions. I'm a dog walker so he's one of my new clients. The problem area for vehicles is on a 200 yard/meter stretch of rural road with a path alongside from their house to the fields. There's only about 3 vehicles pass u...

Lunging at vehicles
I'm walking an English Spaniel who lunges at buses and tractors - it seems to be any large vehicle. I distracted him successfully with a treat today - is this correct ? He has only one eye (left), I haven't taken notice of whether traffic passing one side or the other makes a difference. He also run...
