I just walk around the house and pat my thigh, make squeeky, playful noises and encourage the pup to come along with me. I dro...

I highly recommend a couple of great books for this very thing: Emma Parson's Click to Calm and/or Fight, by Jean Donaldson. If you start at square one and go through the step by step process, outlined in Click to Calm, I think you could make some good progress. It's very, very good. This can happen...

I forgot to mention to be sure to reward the dog immediately...within 3 seconds of the desired behavior or he'll be onto something else and that's what you'll be reinforcing. I probably forgot other things too. Arrrggggg. Your sister can also look for other opportunities to slip in that train...

Here are a couple of my favorite articles on teaching bite inhibition. They're excellent! I encourage you to read them both.

Training a reliable recall isn't something that happens in just a short time. It's a day to day process that needs continued attention for a very long time. It is one of the most difficult tasks to get reliable because there are so many more interesting things in the environment that the dog would r...

Oh my! You must be so worried about her. I do hope they'll find out what is causing these seizures and that it can be treated. I am so sorry you're going through this. No. Don't beat yourself up. Listen. I got my Doberman from a very reputable breeder. She, in fact won the breeder of the year award ...

I should say that at first, make the things easy to find until he gets onto the game...and gradually make them more hidden. It's lots of fun for dogs. You can hide Kong toys with a little peanut butt...

But that's probably based on my own personal experiences in the past with a dog that threw up a lot. It turned...
