Re: James Wellbeloved & Nature's Diet Gram to Cup Conversion

Thanks guys. I think I'm better off investing in scales to get the correct amount.

MPBandmom- that's a really good idea, I might try that!

Re: James Wellbeloved & Nature's Diet Gram to Cup Conversion

I'm also from the UK. Is there another way of converting grams? I've got measure cups for baking; they come in 1 cup, 1/2 cup, 1/3 cup and 1/4 cup.
How would you convert gram? Thanks so much.

James Wellbeloved & Nature's Diet Gram to Cup Conversion

Hi all, I don't have any scales at home at the moment and was wondering whether any of you could give me a rough idea what 55g and 95g of James Wellbeloved dry kibble would be in cups? Also - what would 180g of Nature's Diet be in cups? OR - if it helps - I am feeding a male Chihuahua (2,5kg) and a ...

Re: Poo eating problems

I saw a tablet you can give to your dog to create an off-putting taste to their stools and therefore help preventing them from eating it. It's called Stool-Repel UM and is sold at Pets At Home.

Not sure how effective it is - but maybe worth giving it a try?

Do dogs have bad days?

Hey all, me again (you must be sick of me by now). As you know my dogs are very loud. But today my older boy, the Chihuahua, who usually is the less loud one, has been in a really awful mood. He won't let the puppy (11months) near him. He growls, snaps and snarls at her. They usually curl up next to...

Re: When telling off - what do YOU do?

Did you edit the title of your thread, OP? So in light of the question, when I feel the need to "tell my dog off," I will say in a gentle, almost amused tone, "That was very naughty of you." While at the same time giving her an ear rub. She has no idea she was naughty, and...

Re: When telling off - what do YOU do?

Thanks Emmabeth. Yes I am treating it as fear - and always tell our houseguests to let her approach them etc. It's more the people that need training rather than my dog though - as almost every guest claim to be a ''dog person'' and appears to know what to do etc. In the street and in the park, it's...

Re: When telling off - what do YOU do?

That's why I love Emmabeth's suggestion to teach a "calm" command or a "settle down" cue. Your post and her repsonse helped me realize that I need to teach this to my puppy now -- long before I need it should a stressful situation arise. :D That grooming session sounds very rela...

Re: When telling off - what do YOU do?

Thanks Emmabeth, Chy and Suzette. With my cat - she is a very people nervous cat and she won't let ANYONE come too close. She's been known to literally run across the walls at the vet surgery in panic. She had her leg pulled out of it's socket by some kids when she was a kitten and is very nervous a...

When telling off - what do YOU do?

Hey guys, My previous problem with barking/nervous puppy has thankfully improved thanks to consistent training and great support from this forum. Baby steps, but she is not as bad as she used to be. When I say puppy - she is 11 months now, but I will refer to her as ''puppy'' in this post. I am stil...

Neither of my dogs will eat.

They have now both gone from extremely fussy eaters to being on hunger strike. Seriously doing my head in. I used to give them bisquits only, until a dog expert said it might be better to mix dry kibble with wet food to stimulate appetite. Also with the words ''would you want to eat the same food ev...

Re: Almost ready to get rid of puppy ............. sadly

Hi there, Jamie is only 5 months old - she is still very young and can't hold the wee in yet. I have a 10 month old puppy who still is not properly house trained. My puppy will wee indoors given the chance (especially if it rains outside, and so will my adult dog of 6 years!!) - I still have to supe...

Re: Can a dog just be bad?

When you keep her in another room, remember to praise/treat her when she IS quiet. My guess (if she's anything like my dog) is that, after a while your dog is getting bored being another room so is yelling for your attention. Dogs (in general) want to be near their master. If you have a guest coming...

My puppy loves rabbit droppings. Going to the local football pitch is like being in sweet shop heaven to her.

Re: Can a dog just be bad?

Hi there and welcome! Like the others already said, it sounds like your dog is very anxious and nervous. I have similar problems with my puppy but thanks to very helpful people on this forum, I am now managing and things are looking up. You just have to remember it's not going to happen overnight bu...
