Where to find the right trainer

I need to find a trainer/behaviourist to help us with Alfie. (He's now been with us just over a year now has fear aggression issues with dogs/people and is generally very reactive to any outside stimulus) I want to make sure that we get the right trainer/behaviourist as Alfie becomes easily stressed...

Re: help male boxer dog is people/dog aggressive...

Your boy is getting frustrated and needs to be worn out - however being worn out doesn't necessarily mean exercise. Working with him doing obedience exercises can also wear him out mentally and can be an answer for you in the short term. I would say that you would benefit from some professional help...

Re: Fear Agression? - PTS or continue?

It's my duty to as breeder to take any of my 'pups' back. I brought them into the world so if they need me at any time of their lives I hope that I can help out, (Mind you if they all suddenly needed to come home...yikes!! - thank goodness I've only had two litters) As his breeder I do feel like I f...

Fear Agression? - PTS or continue?

We have had one of our Boxer 'pups' returned. Alfie is almost 4 years old Boxer, he was castrated at 15 months old. He was returned to us towards the end of April as he had 'bitten' an elderly lady causing her hand to need stitches. However we never saw the elderly lady nor the injury so we can't co...

If they do decide to give him up, I can put them in touch with a very good Boxer Rescue, I know the main person and seen her interacting with aggressive dogs, he was a lot worse that this one. Thanks but as his breeder he's ultimately my responsibility. I have found a Boxer trainer that is going to...

Help I have had contact with one of my dog's owners. I need to know if there are any reputable Dog Behaviourists in the Sussex area to assess him. Hi Mel, If I was you I'd also be checking to ask for a blood test and checking for thyroid issues if there is hair loss. Especially if there's no itching etc. As this is what one vet treated Abby for turns out she was hypothyroid. It almost ended up costing her life, as it affected her heart badly. ...

I always ask people that have a puppy from me to wait until they are mature before having them spayed/castrated and that means at least 12 months old. Some people have admitted that their vets do try to pressurise them to spay when very young. I find these two articles interesting http://www.canines...
