I am a military spouse of over 25 years! Having moved from place to place, I have always felt at home while working and volunteering with animals. 

I started as a Veterinarian Assistant overseas in Turkey. Seeing all the stray dogs and cats roaming around, I decided to help the local stray facility get up and running efficiently. I helped put together a trap/neuter/release program for the local stray cats and held numerous raffles to help offset the costs.

Once back stateside, I became a Veterinarian Assistant at a Humane Society where I mostly worked with in takes and sick animals. I also served as interim manager overseeing adoptions.
What led me to where I am now is my lab/pit mix Baloo. She is my reason for it all. I worked at an animal refuge where I decided to foster Baloo-and of course fell in love and adopted her.

She is a very fearful gal by way of genetics, and I knew I could not leave her in her crate all day. So, I decided to quit my job and find her a trainer. Due to her breed, a lot of trainers were reluctant to help me out. We tried three! Finally, with the support and nudge of my husband, I decided I would be her trainer! Baloo was my 'demo dog' in all my training submissions and passed with no issues at all! She now holds a Canine Good Citizen title and a Novice Trick title! 

I absolutely love what I do! I love helping dogs and their humans learn. I love the science behind it all and I love watching the bond between human and dog get that much stronger.
