Katrina believes that learning how to communicate with dogs improves not only the dog-human bond but also the way that humans can understand other humans. By creating a strong foundation of trust and understanding with your own dog you learn skills that also improve your relationship with everyone around you.
Katrina's focus is on communication and understanding your dog. She brings this perspective to her training starting with basic behaviors such as house training and teaching Sit and Stay. By learning how to teach these skills to your dog you not only learn how to communicate your needs to them, you also learn how to understand why they sometimes might not do what you ask them to do, and how to negotiate through that situation.
By understanding what your dog's emotional state is, you can also address problem behaviors such as leash over-reactivity, stubbornness on walks, excessive barking and other issues.
Sometimes you may just want to learn to do MORE with your dog, such as party tricks, walking off leash, playing games or any other activity that's fun for you and your dog. Katrina can help you find what those fun bonding things are so you can continue to build your relationship with your dog.
